This Year's Model Updates:

This fully redesigned Trailblazer now sports a longer, wider and noticeably stiffer chassis, along with an all-new 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine and a more refined suspension that is light years ahead of its predecessor, the Blazer. Unique sheet metal now differentiates the Trailblazer from its GM cousins, the GMC Envoy and Oldsmobile Bravada, while a restyled interior makes better use of the additional passenger room inside.

Pros:
  • Class-leading engine power, forgiving ride, room for seven in the EXT version.

  • Best Mid-Size SUV Available - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Unbelievable standard features in LTZ trim. The wifes favorite thing is the heated seats, mines the 270HP I-6. The vehicle looks soooo much better with the 17" rims and tires. My truck is the most solid Ive ever driven and it has a great turning radius, you can whip it into just about anywhere. I drove the new Explorer and (yawn) wasnt impressed. Same with the Durango. I liked the Pathfinder alot but it just didnt have all the things the TB did. The ride and drive just dont compare to anything else period

  • TOO MANY TRIPS TO MECHANIC - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

We have had our TB LT 4x4 for 2 years and we have had it in for repair at least 8 times. At least three were for recalls, two times for the rear windshield wiper, two other times because it was stalling and failed to start, and another for the driver window coming off track. Its too bad because we reallly like the style and features of the vehicle. The ride and power are great, but you shouldnt have to deal with these problems wiith a $34,000 vehicle. This could be a great vehicle once the kinks are worked out.

  • Lot of Luxury...Not a lot of Price. - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

My wife insisted on getting an SUV in spite of her having a reliable 2dr car that was paid for. I shopped around for awhile and saw that the Trailblazers came at a good price. We bought used with low miles. I couldnt be happier with the car. Its got so many bells and whistles (we have the LTZ) it makes it fun to drive. Gas mileage is not the best but, its an SUV what can you do.

  • Perfect SUV - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

First off, I must say that I would never buy anything that isnt a Chevy, so Im a little biased. This truck is a perfect compromise - Tahoes too big; Blazers too small. In any event, Id definitely recommend this vehicle, but heres some things that can be improved upon. Im so stupid, though: I had to jump a buddys car, and I removed the fuse relay center cover before realizing that the battery was all the way up front....it was after a few pops, though.....

  • We enjoy our SUV - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

We wanted to find a reasonably priced SUV before we started our family. The Trailblazer gave us practically everything we wanted. The ride is nice, it has nice power and towing capacity. The fold down seats have been great, we have been able to get a new leather furniture set in the SUV, and only had to tie down the gate for the long couch. Only complaint is that there do seem to be some minor problems. Our gas tank had a leak, the rear AC stopped working this summer, and the battery would completely drain in the winter when the truck was not started for a few days. If Chevy could work out these little problems, the truck would be a dream!

I have put 60K on this truck.. it has never been in the shop for anything except the scheduled recalls. I have been off road 4x4 worked fine. This has been a great truck dependable. The key to these 4x4s is proper maitenence you must change your fluids.. I change all the fluids in the entire vehicle every 30k example rear diffs, transfer case, trans. etc (oil every 3500)and have used synthetic since day one. This has been a great vehicle. In comparison to everything in its class it has the best ride (smooth) of any of the SUV with solid rear axles

  • A great SUV to own and drive - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Ive had two 2002 Trailblazers LT, 1st one new , drove to 78,000 miles. Very reliable and great riding comfort on highway. Bought another 2002 used with only 18,000 miles because the first one was so reliable. Will keep this one for another couple years. Dont know why so called experts rate this car so low. May buy anew one in a couple years. Only one major complaint--The heating/AC controls are very difficult to figure out and use. Tell them to go back to the hot/cold with a fan control.Nothing complicated.

  • Great engine - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

So far so good. Weve put 6,000 miles on it with no problems. Steering is a little soft leaving the driver wanting more road feedback. Build quality is good and frame is solid. The engine is powerful and responsive - it blows away the competition.

  • Love my Car........................... - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

I was a previous 12 year owner of a 1985 S-10 Blazer. Shopped long & hard for the right SUV for my family, settled with Trailblazer. I love it. At first, with all of the electronics, I wasnt so sure Id like it. WOW. its great. Kids cant lay down comfortably in the backseat, but its not made to be a motorhome :-). Well worth $.
