This Year's Model Updates:

For 2004, Chevrolet has dropped the high-line LTZ trim level. Power-adjustable pedals, a DVD-based navigation system, automatically locking doors and XM Satellite Radio are new features this year. The instrument panel now sports a freshened monochromatic look. The North Face Edition package gets unique 17-inch wheels, while all models get new 17-inch aluminum wheels.

Pros:
  • Strong engine performance, comfortable highway ride, extensive features list, user-friendly controls.
Cons:
  • Skittish handling around corners, numb steering, generic interior design, low-grade interior materials.

Well equipped for a base model. A good value if you are going to keep it for 5 years plus. Lots of room. Lots of power. Very reliable

  • Good offroad vehicle - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Trips include rough offroad and long distance events. Performed well. Problems with clunky second gear shift after four wheel driving. Also, cruise control fails after. Reason unknown but re-enters after battery disconnect for 30 min.

I have had my TrailBlazer for two years now and I havent had any problems which is surprising as I got the fully loaded version with all the extras except for the DVD and navigation. I thought I would be willing to put up with some problems for the price but I havent had one! My first scheduled maintenance service was at 25,000 miles and only cost me $66. I love the oil life monitor that comes with the onboard computer, because I do not beat on the vehicle. Ive only had to change the oil three times in 25,000 miles. And I do get 15.1 miles city and 17 mpg on the highway because I keep it waxed with nufinish and use the cruise control. I have towed to near its rated capacity with four people.

After driving the trailblazer for 4 months now, I have found virtually no problems with engine, interior, or exterior. It is definitely a fun to drive vehicle for long trips as well as everyday driving.

BOUGHT THIS FOR MY WIFE AND IT`S PERFECT. GREAT LOOKS, AND FUNCTION. MPG COULD BE BETTER, BUT PLENTY OF POWER AND WHISPER QUIET MOTOR.

  • Everything but mileage - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Drives good, good visibility, confortable, no too high so runing boards are not needed. I bought it to pull my bass boat and drive to work. I pull my 18 bass boat with no problems. Power is great and no spinning pulling out of the ramp like my chevy c1500 two wheel drive pickup did. I dont even have to put it in 4 wheel drive. Gas millage sucks, two trips to the lake during a tank of gas and millage drops to 14 mpg. If I dont pull my boat I will get 17-18.

  • So much better than my CRV - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

I just traded my Honda CRV-EX and boy am I glad I did.The Trailblazer has lots of nice convenience features (auto headlights, dual climate control, entry lights, etc...) It is very quiet and smooth. My parents both have back problems and are thrilled with the ride. The gas mileage is decent for the power under the hood. My first tank got exactly what the sticker says which is more than I can say for the Honda that never got the stated City mileage even on the highway. This is a nice SUV. With the incentives and a dealer thats willing to make a deal you can get a lot for your money. I traded the CRV Id only had 6 months and Im very happy so far.

  • Solid and dependable - 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

This truck is a vast improvement over the 2001 GMC Jimmy I traded in. The engine is smooth, quiet, and strong. The ride is firm and comfortable, even on long trips.
