This Year's Model Updates:

This fully redesigned Trailblazer now sports a longer, wider and noticeably stiffer chassis, along with an all-new 4.2-liter inline six-cylinder engine and a more refined suspension that is light years ahead of its predecessor, the Blazer. Unique sheet metal now differentiates the Trailblazer from its GM cousins, the GMC Envoy and Oldsmobile Bravada, while a restyled interior makes better use of the additional passenger room inside.

Pros:
  • Class-leading engine power, forgiving ride, room for seven in the EXT version.

  • Best SUV Ive ever owned!!! - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Ive had around 28 cars and suvs and this one is my favorite (the only one that comes close was my 2002 Tahoe LT). I purchased my TB with 72,000 miles on it 3 years ago and now have 115,000 on it and have only done normal things (tune up, tires, brakes, fluids, belts, lights). The only major thing that I had to do was the flex plate on the transmission was cracked. My TB is used every day for work and I do a lot of city driving and it turns better then most sub-compact cars do and can fit in most if not all parking garages in Philly, New York, Washington DC, and so on. The ride is great, the truck is easy to work on and tows my pop up with ease couldnt be happier with this pack-mule.

I bought my TB in 2004 and it had 80k miles, was a rebuilt and now in 2012 it has 160k miles. Awesome car, barely brakes down other than ussual battery and tire replacelement. The only thing i notices thats begining to break down is the window power but to do date its been awesome car with fog lights still working.

iI pre-ordered a fully-loaded LTZ before they came out. The only thing I didnt like were the seats (not a lot of lateral support and lumbar support adjustment was minimal). I later read reviews from people plagues with problems, including the engine. I waited for mine to fall apart and it never did. The engine got noisier but didnt fall apart. After ten years and 110,000 miles, it still runs strong with absolutely no problems! Tires and brakes lasted until 90,000 miles! My C5 Corvette and C-Class Mercedes cant even come close to the reliability that the Trailblazer has. I guess I didnt get the lemon ... Im keeping it until it until it dies.pric

Its been an absolute pleasure during the 1st 10,000 miles on my trailblazer. A real solid ride with great passing power, good sight lines and well thought out ergonomic features that are comfortably for both my wife and myself. So far weve averaged 17.2 MPG during the 1st 10,000 miles which has included a fair amount of time on back roads using 4 wheel drive. My wife would reccomend that if youre under 56" that you pay the extra money and get the running boards to help with entry (especially while wearing a skirt!) and loading of the roof racks.

  • they hold up well - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Ive had some problems here and there with the 4-wheel drive and the gas mileage is ok. but They hold up really well in a rollover accident. i lost control of mine and it rolled and it just shoved in the rear driver corner of the roof.

Its still new so I like everything about it. I like the way it looks - very cool. I went from a mini van to this car so I am very impressed with the handling and passing ability. It make passing very easy.

I now have 127,000 miles on my Trailblazer and still love it. I has been great. I have had it off road many times and have at times been quite rough on it, but I do all the regular maintenance when it is supposed to be done. It still goes down the highway very nicely and I can get 21.5 mpg, not bad for a fairly big truck. I will never go back to a honda or toyota, they were junk. I have been spoiled by my Trailblazer. I plan to keep it for a long time to come.

  • Be ready for Repairs - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

I bought this vehicle with an extended warranty, thank heavens. Within a month they had to replace the whole engine due to valve problems, after 50000 miles transmission cracked in half. Also thankfully covered under warranty. 30000 miles later transmission out again. This time on my dollar. Also clicking noises constantly under the hood that no one can figure out. We do regular maintenance but the big things just keep adding up. I love my truck, the look, the handling, and space but I couldnt in good conscience recommend it to anyone with such costly repairs continuing every time we turn around. They have major problems with the engines in that year and the transmissions.

  • My first year review - 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer

Ive owned the LTZ for a year now and have been pretty happy with it. Ive experienced a few minor problems (transfer case mysteriously shifting on its own, power windows that do not reset), but the vehicle has been reliable. My only complaint would be in build quality. Seams do not appear even and when driving off road. When driving off road (forest roads) the body does not feel tight over bumps. But having own two GMC Jimmys before this, it was expected.

I love this vehicle for the design and ride. Lots of room, heavy towing capacity, lots of cargo room. The ride is smooth. The sound system is not the best in the world, but hey, it beats riding in silence!
