My 2003 Tracker - 2003 Chevrolet Tracker
By JIM - March 21 - 4:11 pmLucky to find 03 with less than 6k. I drive a lot, 250 to 400 miles a week. Use it in my job and get mileage allowance for it. Fun to drive. The optional 2.0 liter engine is very peppy over the base engine, even with the automatic trans, which I have grown to like. Easy to park, easy to turn in tight spots, turns super tight U-turns. Lucky to find and like white color for very sunny climate I am in. I did have to replace the rear axle bearrings at about 36k and a cost of about $1,300, ouch! Just out of standard warranty. Still wondering why the 2 door uses the same axle as the 4 door, and having less weight, should not of had a problem burning out, even carrying me, 280 lb guy! No other problems.

2004 Wildfire Red 4WD - 2004 Chevrolet Tracker
By Roger Engelken - February 24 - 1:40 pmI purchased the car for the 4WD given the harsh December and January we had here in Northern Colorado. It has worked admirably in the snow, and now is a joy to drive on once again dry roads. Ive had no issues with it, and getting replacement parts thus far has been very easy to do. After five coats of wax it has a good new shine once again. No missing the wildfire red color.

Fun to drive! - 2000 Chevrolet Tracker
By ekostak - February 22 - 11:55 amThis is a fun car to drive. It has great response in 2 and 4 wheel drive. With a decent set of tires this suv will climb anything. Its small enough to go anywhere and will turn on a dime. I would like to see a little more power and the interior could use a little upgrade. Ofcourse with a price as low as it is those things are expected. This suv is a steal for the going prices.

Surprising - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
By dellapina - February 7 - 3:43 pmI figure this would be a weak little starter vehicle, but it turned out to be a comfortable, very spacious, spunky little SUV. Not much luxury but all the necessities, and very, very reliable.

Excellent Little SUV - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker
By BlackKnight - February 6 - 12:53 pmI love this little SUV. I purchased 2 years ago and have had zero issues accept for daily wear and tear. The 4WD works well although the turning radius leaves something to be desired. Ive driven in several snow storms with no issues. Parking is excellent especially in city driving where the Tracker with its higher profile and compact size makes parallel parking a breeze. This is an excellent little work horse for a mother with one or two children and perfect for a college student in a snowy climate. It is dependable, fun to drive, and save to drive due to the higher profile driving on a highway and for its 4WD capability.

Great Deal - 2001 Chevrolet Tracker
By Kat - February 2 - 9:56 amMy husband and I downgraded from a Dodge Ram, and love our little Tracker. Its a plain model, but its 4WD capabilities are awesome. Since its so light, it actually outshines many larger 4WDs. Nothing fancy in ours to break such as power windows. CD player and radio work great. Have had to take off heat shield, bolts came undone and it rattled something terrible. We bought it for his commute to work, and the gas mileage is pretty decent! Turning radius is super small, and it zips around everywhere we need to go. I have no worries about our motor its the same as a geo prisim, and I know those are spectatular. While its not a luxury SUV by any means, it is fun, functional, and reliable!

1999 4WD Automatic Conv. - 1999 Chevrolet Tracker
By eaoreilly - January 23 - 8:01 amI bought this car for its 4WD capacity. I live on a hill, and in snowy winters, its great, and I love it. Its got 111,000 miles on it now, and the only real problems that Ive had is with the wheel bearings giving out and the 4WD having some problems, but other than that, Id purchase this car again in a heartbeat!

Not what I expected. - 1999 Chevrolet Tracker
By DKJones96 - September 15 - 4:44 pmI bought this car to replace my Toyota Cressida. Big mistake. In 9 months and 12k miles, Ive had to replace the alternator that actually left me stranded, blower fan, the radiators fiberglass end-caps have cracked and started leaking, the tensioner and idler pully were worn very badly, and the car has 75K on it and none of those items are maintenance related. Repair is expensive. The electric fan breaks off the fins on the condenser hurting a/c performance a lot. The body squeaks, and the cheap plastic tabs all need replaced. They either fall off or break when removed. Mileage in 70/30 hwy/city averages 19MPG. Not impressive for a 4 banger, and its slow.

2004 tracker is a great little SUV - 2004 Chevrolet Tracker
By shming007 - June 25 - 12:51 pmThe Chevy Tracker ZR2 is the best vehicle I have ever had. I have never slipped a tire in the snow and ice even when other vehicles around me are slidding everywhere. When I put my foot on the accelerator I can get out of any situation.

Just Loving It - 2001 Chevrolet Tracker
By Mary - June 18 - 2:54 amI have had this litte ZR2 for 3 years now and still Love it. I normaly drive a Manual, but got an Automatic after test driving 3 manuals and they did not seem right. I drive to and from Northern WI a lot, and it travels great. Only a few wierd things have broken, master switch for power windows and locks (Over $250 to replace, but found it on Ebay for $10) and a wierd rattle noise from engine compartment, took dealership a week to replace under warranty. Will keep til it dies.
