  • Use of my Tracker since new - 2000 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

I purchased this vehicle new for a towed vehicle behind my motorhome. It was one of few light weight vehicles that could be towed 4 down. It has only 26000 miles as of this date, and I use it almost daily. I have had no problems with it and except for some wind noise, and low horsepower, I think it is a great vehicle and plan to keep it until the wheels fall off. Thanks

  • Great Small Car - 2002 Chevrolet Tracker

This is a great small car. Easy to drive, easy to park, and very smooth and comfortable for being on a truck frame. It will be sad some day to give this car up as it is the last of the really small affordable SUVs.

  • Great SUV - 2004 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

I love my Tracker. I had been without a car for a couple years and got a job that required me to have a car. I looked at 2 cars. The Tracker was the only one I test drove and I loved it the second I got in it. Its great on road trips and I can get everything I need into it. The cargo space could be just a tad longer but it works for me.

  • Economical, Reliable 4 Wheel Drive - 1999 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

Fun to drive, handles well suprisingly roomy inside. Underpowered on highway, but economy is good tradeoff, never less than 19 MPG to 24 highway. Reliable - 140,000 miles & still going strong. Only garage work required was AC Fan (AC has been somewhat of a pronblem since) oil leak repaired. OEM Uniroyal tigerpaws ran 130,000 miles - first brake job needed at 136,000! Great in the snow! Seats uncomfortable for over 1 hr drives, strong winds at highway speeds affect handling. Drove hard 125 miles a day for 1 1/2 yrs over 2 winters, 4WD made slippery roads very manageable. 4WD, CD, cruise, ABS, power windows Oh my! Great hunting/fishing SUV, pulls 20 boat easily for under 20 mile trip.

  • Never broke down in 8 years - 1999 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

This car has never broken down once since December 1999 with only 400 miles to start with. I changed the oil religiously and never drove crazy. Ive recently had the brake pads changed for the first time in 8 years. Ill be driving this car over 2,000 miles from TX to WA so Ill really be testing it now. The exterior black plastic runner along the drivers side door has come unglued and is about the only noticable defect. I dont know if Im just lucky or if I have the only Tracker that was built to last.

  • Needs better mileage - 2001 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

Live in Michigan and commute 30 miles one way to work everyday. I cannot complain about my little SUV. I have had to replace an engine at about 80,000 miles, but even with a hole in the engine, my little SUV did not leave me stranded. It kept plugging along. Im not real pleased with the gas mileage. I have to keep it above half a tank or it drinks the gas down something terrible, but then it does have 96,000 miles on it.

  • I Love It! - 2001 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

I bought this car used in 03 and have loved it ever since. I have had a few costly problems, but otherwise it runs great and is a blast to drive, easy to park, fun off road. The only problems I have had have been at about 30,000 mile the master switch for the power windows broke, cost of almost $300 to replace, but I found one on Ebay for $10! Also I Just replaced the rear brakes, $700 later. I have 60,000 on it now and plan to keep it for at least another 5 years.

  • Must have been built on a Friday - 2000 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

Purchased the tracker new in late 2000. Got the no frills, basic 5 speed model. At approximately 3,000 miles loud squeaks and squeals came from engine transmission area. I told dealer I thought it was trans but he supposedly changed water pump. Went back and forth changing parts finally trans 5th gear blew at 65,000 others are not far behind. Directional and electrical wires grounded out between firewall and trans. oil seals began leaking heavily at 70,000. Built by Suzuki but not as dependable as Samurai I have.

  • Tracker Opinion - 2004 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

Not a bad vehicle. It has plenty of power to pull my 3000lb sail boat. Its pretty light so mileage is good but, it also means that it get blown around when its windy. Leg room for the back seats is lacking for normal sized humans. The seats fold down well so there is a lot of cargo capacity. The major negative for this vehicle is the interior. The interior is cheap plastic, and the seats are uncomfortable for any duration. The lack of sound insulation is another big issue. The interior road noise for this car is very loud. On the positive, the engine is over-sized. And handling is very stable, with little body roll. It actually handles better than my previous car, a Pontiac Grand Am.

  • 2004 LT Tracker - 2004 Chevrolet Tracker
    By -

Have 28,000 miles on my 04 LT Tracker. I get 22 mpg city, and 24 mpg highway at 70 mph. The interior layout is very dated but functional. Its that 70s retro look. Front seating is a bit cramped and rear seating is really just for kids.
