This Year's Model Updates:

Half-ton models now feature standard Hydroboost brakes, a tire-pressure monitoring system and newly styled 16- and 17-inch aluminum wheels. Two-wheel-drive models with traction control now feature a locking rear differential, and the trailering package includes a 7-to-4 pin brake wiring adapter. For added safety, there is now a front passenger seatbelt reminder. Lastly, Chevrolet has lowered the output figures for the Vortec 8100 -- the engine is now rated at 320 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque.

Pros:
  • Choice of powerful V8 engines, Quadrasteer four-wheel steering system, cavernous cargo space, room for nine.
Cons:
  • Massive size can be tough in tight confines, vague steering feel, cheap interior plastics.

Still in the first 500 miles of ownership. Got the 8.1 liter engine ... not too many out there to be had ... cant have enough power/torque for towing. Overall, this SUV is an excellent ride - smooth, comfortable, user friendly and quiet. Really love it. LT package is an excellent value option.

Recently purchased first Suburban after looking at many different SUVs. It is simply the most vehicle for the money and can be purchased for a reasonable cost if you keep the options list short. It comes with a lot of standard features.

Its a great truck. I will never go back to a car. My wife has a lexus 470 which has a nicer interior but the burban handles just as well. Im trying this one with stabilitrak.....well see how it performs

  • Great Truck - 2004 Chevrolet Suburban

Ive owned my 2003 Suburban 4WD Z71 for nine months and have put about 9000 miles on it. I have had zero problems with it and have had it back to the dealer for oil changes only. Its very comfortable, easy to handle for such a large vehicle, and solidly built. If you need lots of space, as I do with 6 dogs, I would highly recommend the Suburban.
