This Year's Model Updates:

The Silverado gets a makeover this year that includes a new front fascia and revised side moldings and taillights. Top-of-the-line models get power-folding heated mirrors with puddle lamps and turn signal indicators. On the inside, the Silverado is the first full-size pickup to offer a Bose stereo system and XM Satellite Radio. The instrument panel and center console have been redesigned, and Chevrolet has added new seats, a more comprehensive driver information center and a dual-zone climate control system. For increased safety, Silverados now feature a standard front-passenger-sensing system and dual-stage airbags. On the hardware side, all 4.3-liter V6-equipped Silverados and California-emission V8s are now ULEV-certified, while electronic throttle control is now standard on all V8 engines. The Autotrac four-wheel-drive system has been modified for less intrusiveness at low speeds, and the brake system received upgrades that provide better pedal feel and improved overall performance.

Pros:
  • Roomy extended-cab models, strong V8 engines, innovative features.
Cons:
  • Cheap interior materials, questionable build quality.

I have bought a few chevy trucks before and this one is much like the rest. I drive my boss ford truck quite a bit and the chevy is much better in terms of comfort and ride.

We usually buy a new truck every two years. We have kept this truck because we both love it. It is so much fun to drive. My wife comes home from driving it and says I LOVE THIS TRUCK. The Quadra Steer is the best thing Ive every bought. No problems with the truck.

I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TROUBLE WITH THIS TRUCK SINCE I PURCHASED IT FROM LINDSAY CHEVY,DUMFRIES VA. IT WAS IN THE SHOP FOR 25 OF THE FIRST 30 DAYS THAT I OWNED IT. TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, THEY COULD NOT FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG, SO THEY PUT IN A NEW TRANNY. BEEN BACK SEVERAL TIMES WITH IT. SAME PROBLEMS AGAIN. SO THEY HAVE IT NOW MAYBE A NEW TRANNY AGAIN. SO GOOD LUCK

I find this truck to be average. It has the steering thump noise, found in chevy trucks since 1999 that chevy wont solve. Also had mildew smell in the air conditioner, the dealer installed a circuit board to correct this. Also the truck has the common transmisson shudder on acceleration.

I like the truck. Bought it used 1 owner, low miles. Hasnt let me down, but has required some parts and upgrading, all of which I do myself to avoid being jacked up by the dealer. Was quite shocked at the quality of oem parts compared to years past. In one year, she needed aftermarket rotors and brakes, as the oem parts are trash. A power steering pump. Rusted lines at the pump. U joints were dried out, rusted and fused together. Underbody rust is atrocious. Front shocks gone at 55k. No engine or trans problems. Some areas are overdone and others are thrown together. Overall, I got what I paid for in todays market.

IF YOU HAVE KIDS YOU NEED THIS TRUCK. THE OTHERS DONT EVEN COMPAIR IN INTERIOR ROOM.(YOU KNOW YOU DONT REALLY WANT THE FORD SUPERCREW).

  • Solid Truck - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Rear seats are comforatable and please both the kids and parents. Access to rear seats with clamshell doors not a problem. Rear seating area has more functional room/features than did the 2001 Xterra that we previously owned. Z71 towing package provides enough axle and shock overhead so as to handle moderate tongue weights with no perceptible impact on suspension.

  • Almost 250,000 miles, doesnt burn a drop of oil. - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

  • Great SS - 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

This vehicle is fun to drive! The performance and handling is great. We have gone on long trips with it. It is very comfortable and easy to drive. We owned a 96 Impala SS and the Silverado SS is the best. It is an all weather and versatile vehicle. It is close to the GMC C3. However is has more standard features. We love it. We have been looking for a vehicle like this for a long time. Great job Chevrolet.
