Basic Transport - 2000 Chevrolet Metro
By Mark A. - August 25 - 2:00 amFor what this car is about, getting from point A to point B it does it, and with little gas. At 62" it is not the car for me but for my wife it works fine. Credit card dollars helped reduce the cost of this car to < $6000 new. So, that helped.

By rgolf1960 - August 11 - 2:00 amLove the gas mileage (40mpg) but have had in the shop (4) times for A/C work in (2) yrs. Otherwise great work car.

Like a Rock - 1998 Chevrolet Metro
By Labradogs1 - July 16 - 2:00 amThis car is like the eveready rabbit. Excellent mileage (best on the planet) so you can laugh at the high gasoline prices. Never lets me down. No repairs, just regular maintenance. You feel like youre beating the system when you drive this car. All the convenience without the bills. Get one!

Low Cost, Reliable Commuter - 2000 Chevrolet Metro
By Hereld Stuart - June 24 - 2:00 amI average about 45 mpg, commuting on highway, some mountainous road, and some stop&go commuting. I have about 100,000 miles on my 2000 Metro, with no mechanical problems whatsoever. I replace the oil/filter every 5k miles, and have replaced the plugs, the manual transaxle fluid, the brake pads, and the tires once each, every thing else is original. It handles very well under all conditions (except for high winds). Acceleration is not great, especially with air conditioning on, but its acceptable.

1999 Chevrolet Metro LSI Sedan - 1999 Chevrolet Metro
By Mike Nomura - May 7 - 2:00 amFor a small car, the ride, handling, paint finish, and interior are liveable. Equipt with a A/C, the car has one whole engine cylinder of four devoted just to turn the compressor. I had to turn off the unit when anticipating a hill on the freeway. Further more, when decending down the same hill required me the press the accelerator down one-forth down just to overcome the high gear ratio that engine brakes. Also the A/C temperature, never got cold. When climbing up the hill without the A/C, the car has more than enough power. The only warranty service done was to replace a leaking A/C compressor shaft seal. Still the A/C preformed the same as above. It averaged only forty MPG.

2000 Chevrolet Metro HB, STD - 2000 Chevrolet Metro
By Mike Nomura - May 7 - 2:00 amFor someone who needs only basic, no frill transportation, this car served me just fine. This 1800 pound, three cylinder car keeps up with any freeway traffic. With no A/C and equipted with a manual transmission, all of the energy goes to the wheels. The fifth gear overdrive allows me to coast down a hill without touching the gas pedal and provided me with fifty-seven MPG.
