Metro tons of power for small dollars. - 1998 Chevrolet Metro
By mvlion - April 18 - 2:00 amMetros are excellent cars for the small amount of money needed to buy one. Always, make sure you get a 5 speed. Never, buy this car in a power and mileage robbing 3 speed automatic. This is the reason that it so hard to find a used low mileage stick and so easy to find a low mileage automatic. Expect, to get 40 mpg with a stick Metro with pretty good comfort and equipment levels. 1998 and newer models had Fuel Injection and are much quicker!

Great for home to job - 2000 Chevrolet Metro

It might be a little smaller then your average car, but if you want something that is good enough to get you from one place to another with out alot of trouble, this car will do just fine.

My Metro - 1998 Chevrolet Metro
By metroman - December 31 - 2:00 amI bought My Metro new (1998 model) and drove it 130,000 miles until I ran into a parked SUV. The airbag worked great and I got only a scratch. The car was 100% reliable - it always started and ran good. It gave 40+ miles per gallon. With the rear seat down, the hatch could carry very large items. Ill miss that car, wish they were still building them, Id buy another. Now that I think about it, the only problem was an oil leak, at about 85,000 miles. Good car!

Simple and Reliable - 1999 Chevrolet Metro
By Marvin Lindroth - November 11 - 2:00 amA very reliable car and ideal for commuting to work. It drives easily, is simple to park, and gets great gas mileage (45mpg: manual transmission). Carrying two or three adult passengers, the car has weak acceleration power, but with no adult passangers or one, the cars acceleration power is acceptable. No mechanical problems at all.

I like it, I like it a lot - 2000 Chevrolet Metro
By Whisphers - October 31 - 2:00 amok, ok. So its small, but probably much bigger that you think. This is a car created specifically for the just out of college, kind of got a job, but its far away - no family person. When I bought it, I didnt want a cavalier and focuses & echos were brand new (and not available in my area), so this was I got. I love it. My insurance is cheap and all Ive had to fix is the air filter.

By mr bad example - October 25 - 2:00 amthis car is bullet-proof, change the oil every few months or few thousand miles, shift before the engine blows up and this car will last forever. the only problem i have is merging on fast interstates, thats when you pray for more ponies. around town and down the road, its the greatest.

You get what you pay for - 2000 Chevrolet Metro
By BobbyBrown - September 23 - 2:00 amIve owned a 2000 4-dr Metro for over 2 years and have driven it to/from work plus two Texas-MN cross cross-country trips, one of them the winter with blizzards and all. I am VERY pleased with my Metro. Its not a Lexus, but it cost a bunch less than one too. Its also no Yugo. It gets me from A-B comfortably, is very dependable, good on gas, etc. Every once in a while I wish I had this or that car instead, but then I think of all the cold, hard $$$ I am saving.
