My car was bought because we were expecting a baby. It was cheep and I liked the way it looked. It isnt too big, but it isnt too small. I am short and have trouble fitting into bigger cars, I fit perfect in this car. And I usually dont have trouble parking.

2nd Metro Ive owned and reliability was reason for purchasing again. I had 187000 on first Metro and was on original engine, clutch, and transmission. This one does not get the mileage the first one got and not as peppy either. It is more comfortable and has a/c.

  • Great car for little out of pocket - 2000 Chevrolet Metro

I am a student, so this car is awsome for me. Less insurance and less gas to keep me going. Only thing I had to redo to the car is new alternator. But thats because I added subwoofers.

  • A great commuter! - 1999 Chevrolet Metro

An outstanding commuter! Great gas mileage! I travel 40 miles daily to work. Is very reliable. I had obly one problem with it after the first year. The ignition coil and wire shorted out. It was a warranty repair. Other than oil changes and new tires, it had saved me a lot of money in repair costs. I am passing it on to my daughter so she can go to school in it.

This is my second Metro. I got this 1998 2 dr used and have been a bit disappointed at the lower mpg as compared to my 4 dr 93 GEO. Still, with winter cold starts and a commute of only 7 miles city driving to work, I got over 36 mpg. Hope to get 40 mpg with the warmer weather. Wonderful car around town. Fun to drive. Easy to maintain. Resale value is about 100% so far.

  • Every thing I paid for - 1999 Chevrolet Metro

It will beat most so called "high mileage hybrids". Have always gotten between 50 & 55 MPG in city traffic. It backs off to 45 MPG on highway at 75 MPH. It is peppy, but is slower as you add more passengers. Had heater switch & thermostat replaced under warranty. Dollar for dollar you cant beat it.

1st metro was a 97 w/ 49k. Drove it to 100k, NEVER a problem, not one! A lady smashed into the side of me at full speed, outside driver side door was completely mangled and buckled in, but the inside looked like nothing had happened (great car construction). I was amazed, walked away without a scratch. Car even still ran! Once insurance co settled purchased a 2000 w/ 34k. Have been driving it for 8 months, love these cars!

It performs well for what I bought it for which is good fuel economy, cheap insurance and maintenance.
