Overview & Reviews
The midsize Malibu has been totally redesigned for 2004. It now rides on an entirely new vehicle platform and offers a more powerful V6 along with must-have safety features like side curtain airbags and adjustable pedals.
- Balanced ride and handling characteristics, plenty of passenger and cargo space, ample safety and convenience features, innovative remote start feature.
- Down on power compared to its competitors, lackluster interior, no manual transmission available.

excellent choice! - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By kowbyz8 - July 2 - 2:00 amA great car to drive and handles very nicely. Only downfall is there are no child safety door locks. Like the idea of three should/lap belts in the back seat. Its very roomy in the back even for tall people. I love the care and glad we purchased it instead of another make we were looking at. Great value for the price!

New Malibu everythings better... - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By fanofgm - June 28 - 2:00 amJust traded in our 00 Malibu LS for a new Malibu LT, WOW! Silver Green with all the options. Sharp, quick comfortable car. Drove to families house (3 hours away) and dont have one complaint. Improved in every way from the old bodystyle. In my opinion better than the Camry and yes even the Accord, in my opinion. If your looking at a mid sized car make sure you look at the new Malibu.

Happy with this car! - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By Claude Harris - June 25 - 2:00 amThis is, for us, a good family car. It is pleasant to drive. The suspension is a little harder than other cars that we have owned but it corners better and seems quite sure footed.

Chevrolet Malibu 2004 - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By BarbaraTaylor - June 21 - 2:00 amI love this car! Although, I am disappointed with the gas efficiency and the recent recall, I have experienced no problems with my Malibu. I have received numerous compliments from strangers regarding the styling and have found that it is a fun car to drive. The little features in the car are wonderful. Would highly recommend this automobile to a prospective buyer!

Malibu for who? - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By Big Blue Malibu - June 21 - 2:00 amGreat Handling Great Riding AND fUN to Drive.Very thoughtful features like fold down rear seats-the latches are in the trunk. But beware of the electrical system 3 weeks after driving the car the power steering quit! Entire steering column had to be replaced-and the cd skips and the cruise control does not work properly-hopefully dealer will be able to fix the cd and cruise.

My experience with the 2004 Malibu LS - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By Kimberly Rieger - June 21 - 2:00 amI have had so many problems with this car that it is not funny. I have had it for 7 months and it has been into the dealer 5 times totaling 25 days since the end of Jan. 2004. It is experiencing problems again. The last time I had it in at the beginning of June it had a fuel injector go out, this is pretty bad considering it only had 10000 miles on it.

A car that is more than adequate - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By Malibu Raptor - June 20 - 2:00 amI have now put over 1300 miles on this car and for the most part am satified with it. I previously own a 99 and a 02 Malibu and felt they were excellent cars. I was disappointed that the base model of the new line of Malibus only has a 2.2l 4 cylinder engine, although it has more than enough power to get the job done and gets excellent mileage. A recent 360 mile road trip got 37.8 mpg according to the onboard trip computer. It is very unfortunate that they have dropped the ABS and child door locks from the standard equipment list for the base model.

Strange Pricing - Love Car - 2004 Chevrolet Malibu
By maxriderdoon - June 18 - 2:00 amLike many other reviewers I love this car compared to everthing else in its price range. Car seems more refined. Drive out price was 23K after buying new tag. Dealer gave us a 3K Rebate instead of 2K with proof of ownership of non GM car - Strange I find that nowhere on the internet.
