Overview & Reviews
Fully redesigned for 2008, the Chevrolet Malibu is now roomier, more powerful and of notably higher quality. It shares a platform with the Saturn Aura but is definitely not a simple rebadge, as it features unique exterior and interior styling along with different suspension tuning for a softer ride.
- Strong performance from V6, excellent ride and handling balance, roomy cabin, comfortable seats, very good fit and finish.
- Some ergonomic gaffes and subpar cabin materials, no rear center armrest, a few key features are unavailable.

TOO MANY ISSUES TO LIST - 2008 Chevrolet Malibu
By cmg2211 - January 10 - 11:41 amI bought this car new when it first came out and in the past five years have had numerous issues! My windshield wiper motor has seized twice (one in the middle of a torrential downpour while I was on the highway and most recently in a snowstorm). Both times the entire wiper motor and assembly has had to be replaced ($400 each time). The air condition system needed to be replaced after only one year. The locks dont work anymore so neither does the remote starter. You have to manually push down the lock on each door- the power door locks dont work from the key fob or from the drivers side door. When in park doors lock you in- have to roll down windows and open from outside.

Was a nice Car - 2008 Chevrolet Malibu
By bcarmichael1 - July 25 - 4:58 pmOverall I enjoyed my car when I first bought it in 2008. I have had to take my car in four times in the last three months. Things that have gone wrong in the last 2 years: replace door locks (driver side front and back), keyless remotes, exhaust and cam solenoids, emergency brake, tires, brakes, OnStar system, Intermediate shaft in steering column, and numerous sensors. I am happy that I bought the extended warranty. I recently have had to put new brakes on the car and new tires. The car only has 55,500 miles on it. Will never own another GM product.

2008 Chevy Malibu LTZ is junk - 2008 Chevrolet Malibu
By Anne Marie - October 7 - 12:39 pmI fell in love with this car when it was first launched and really wanted to have one. I thought I was lucky when I got a used one with 13000km on it. It was a gm employee demo car. At 22,000 the car started to pull to the right, dealer couldnt find a problem. At 27000km it was out of line and I had to pay $200 for have cambers installed in order to line it up properly. At 29000km the fan is beginning to go on it. Its a piece of junk. Certainly not worthy of car of the year.It will be my last GM vehicle.
