  • Lumina Euro - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina

I bought this Euro off the original owner, 99,000 miles, 3.1 motor which I like better cause the 3.4 needs too much maintence. They are more powerful, but the cost is too high. This Euro gets 20 miles per gallon no matter how I drive it. Very clean, easy to get in and out of. They are nice cars.

  • Z34 3.4 Engine Timing Belt Poor Design - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina

I bought the Z34 Lumina 2 years ago and and was told that the timing belt had been replaced and would need to be done at 111000 miles. I have only driven 5000 miles since I bought it. Had not a single problem until just after it passed inspection 2 years after I purchase it, in one day it needed a water pump new serpetine belt, oil pan gasket, oil pump.and water pump. If I did not keep in garage and drive it so little these problems would have shown up in a month or two, most likely. I hear that the timing belt replacement every 60k is a must. The ABS brakes never worked and the ABS dash light came on right after 2 yr inspection. I understand that in NJ that is not cause to fail. Great otherwise

  • 93 Chevy Lumina Euro 2dr Coupe - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina

I bought the car used of course in 2001. When I first got it the car made weird noises going over small bumps, and the dealership said they didnt know what it was. Turned out to be the rear shock strut. I repaired it myself, it was pretty easy. After owning the car about 3 years the ignition coils went bad. You can buy a upgraded coil pack now at your local auto parts store. Ive done all the work to my car, its pretty easy to work on, but the spark plugs are always a pain in the but to change. Other than that its been a great car, never any oil leaks or anything major wrong with it..

  • Awesome Car. - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina

I traded in an 89 S10 Baja for this car and I have to say it was an excellent trade. This is a truly memorable car and if I ever get the chance to purchase another, I will do it. I never had any repairs except a power steering pump which was only 40 bucks. I bought the car shortly after I graduated high school, and I kept it for over 2 years. Then I traded it to a 97 Grand Cherokee limited, but I missed it so much i had to purchase the car back from the dealer. I truly enjoyed this car. It has plenty of HP. I highly suggest if you see one of these for sale to buy it. You will not be dissapointed.

  • Old girls been good to me - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina

Bought this car in 98 and its been one of the best things I ever did. I dont know if I just got lucky with it or what, but its been great. Early problem with alternators, 3 in 2 years. Since then, just keeps going and going. 240,000 on it now. Starting to show some wear this past year. Struts, water pump, rotors had to be replaced. Starting to have other problems show up too, leaking oil, transmission fluid and water. My fault though, I think, I have not really taken very good care of the car. Never changed trans fluid, plugs, oil about every 7500 and never changed coolant, still, it just keeps going! My gas mileage is great for a car this size too,28 mpg. Love another this good!

  • Saved my tail! - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina

I loved the style and the handling was beautiful. It was fun to drive and the feel of the wind flow through the car. You gotta love it. I totalled it in a bad collision with 3 consecutive trees after going sideways over a bank but escaped unharmed. I loved this car, but better it then me.

  • One of the worst enginered cars - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina

Mine died at around 75K miles. The transmission slipped, the heads warpped, and boom, the whole thing froze. All in all, it was a basic car, nothing ever troubled me except the brakes, which were entirely replaced 4 times. The rotor design was so poor that I managed to break the rotor from the spindle and that is very rare.

  • My Lumina - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina
    By -

Since purchasing my Lumina I have had many mixed experiences. First of all, its a blast to drive and is put together quite well. But its like Murphys Law, "if it can go wrong, it will"...I bought the car for $2000 cash and have put in almost $3000 in parts, and 99% of that is done by myself. If youre not mechanically inclined, it may not be a wise choice. I hope this could help, and happy motoring.

  • Great Car for the Money! - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina

We bought this car new in 94, it has been a great car but recently got rid of it to get a two door. We put 98K great miles on it. We had minor repiars thoughout the life on the car. We had to replace the water pump which was something that always goes wrong with GM cars, nothing new, great ride, great handling, good gas mileage, pants is excellent ours was torch red, car held up great, not a dot or rust, 3.1 Liter engine is great. Never buy a GM 3.4 Liter engine sucked on this car.

  • The greatest car on earth - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina
    By -

We bought this car as a program car back in 94 and I have been the main driver of it. I get great gas mileage and it has had very little maintenance on it as far as parts going bad. I have almost 190,000 miles on it and I would trust it to drive it across the United States any day. We have thought about buying another Chevrolet but I just hate the idea of getting rid of my Lumina! Even thoough its almost 12 years old, I still trust it a lot. Its like one of the family. Thank you Chevrolet for making such a great car.
