Overall Good Car - 1995 Chevrolet Lumina
By usedmeacar - March 11 - 12:25 pmMy wife and I bought this car off a "lemon lot" in the NW. It had I wanna say 130,000 on it when we bought for lil over 2k. The only thing we have had to replace was the ECM and that was a year after we bought it. Overall the car has never left me stranded and always starts(unless she dosnt shut off the dome light) I then sold it to my sister at 189,000 miles and then bought it back at 192,000. And with OEM struts, they are totally shot and the car feels like its going to leave the road, and now rides like a lumber truck.

very disapointed - 1997 Chevrolet Lumina
By very disapointed - February 23 - 10:51 amVery expsensive car to own. I have had this car just a short time. 121,000 miles when I bought it, and in less than 6mos I have made some very costly repairs (close to $2000) with some repairs labor free because I did some myself. intake gasket, egr valve, catalytic coverter, trans flush new brakes. the check engine light comes on everytime I fix one thing something else sets light on. I really think this is a good example of a modern day disposable car. If I could aford to, I would just throw it away to the junkyard where it belongs. poor engineering altogether. Just a legal lemon, and a piece of junk.

Very Nice Car - 1999 Chevrolet Lumina
By Josh J - February 13 - 9:11 pmI have owned this car for almost 2 years now and I have no complaints what so ever. This car is very comfortable, and has plenty of power with GMs 3.1L,V6. I have taken this car on many lengthy trips and have had no problems, the car just keeps on going. I currently have 119,000 miles on the car with nothing but regular maintaince, such as oil changes, coolant and transmission flushes, and a tune up, otherwise, no extra money stuck into this car. I would recomend this car to anyone looking for a comfortable, fun to drive car.

Love my Lumina - 1998 Chevrolet Lumina
By Judith Lloyd - February 12 - 12:00 amMy Lumina has been driven by me only and has given me excellent service. My Lumina has 31,550 actual miles and still has the same tires that came with it brand new. I only drive it work and church which are both less than 5 miles from my home.

Great car - good MPG for a car this big - 2001 Chevrolet Lumina
By Pete Anderson - January 10 - 12:51 pmI bought this car used in 2003, and have driven it for about 15,000 miles a year since then. I have only had minor issues with the car including replacing brakes, new tires, and i had a fluke where the ignition switch had to be replaced one time. Overall ive been very happy with this vehicle, one of the most trouble free cars Ive ever owned.

Z34 3.4 Engine Timing Belt Poor Design - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina
By 93 Lumina Z34 Coupe - January 9 - 7:21 amI bought the Z34 Lumina 2 years ago and and was told that the timing belt had been replaced and would need to be done at 111000 miles. I have only driven 5000 miles since I bought it. Had not a single problem until just after it passed inspection 2 years after I purchase it, in one day it needed a water pump new serpetine belt, oil pan gasket, oil pump.and water pump. If I did not keep in garage and drive it so little these problems would have shown up in a month or two, most likely. I hear that the timing belt replacement every 60k is a must. The ABS brakes never worked and the ABS dash light came on right after 2 yr inspection. I understand that in NJ that is not cause to fail. Great otherwise

Great reliable car for the money - 1997 Chevrolet Lumina
By Jason - December 29 - 3:26 pmI bought this car from first owner at 105,000 miles. Owner had previously replaced alternator and performed regular maintenance. I currently have 160,000 miles on it. This car had never let me down. Gets great mileage for a car this size. Intake manifold gaskets developed the typical leak on the 3.1 engine and I replaced them myself (I am ASE Master auto tech). AC is cold and transmission shifts smoothly.

93 Chevy Lumina Euro 2dr Coupe - 1993 Chevrolet Lumina
By chris-wayne - November 8 - 8:32 pmI bought the car used of course in 2001. When I first got it the car made weird noises going over small bumps, and the dealership said they didnt know what it was. Turned out to be the rear shock strut. I repaired it myself, it was pretty easy. After owning the car about 3 years the ignition coils went bad. You can buy a upgraded coil pack now at your local auto parts store. Ive done all the work to my car, its pretty easy to work on, but the spark plugs are always a pain in the but to change. Other than that its been a great car, never any oil leaks or anything major wrong with it..

Mega miles and still going strong - 1998 Chevrolet Lumina
By 240000 milesngoing - November 4 - 6:55 pmCanadian summers and winters - extreme. AC still running fine never used a block heater even at -40. Regular maintenance by neighbourhood mechanic. In past 9 years, gas tank, breaks twice, muffler clamp, tires, and recently a ?gasket? that meant the whole engine had to come apart... $850...not bad for 9 years...Honest. Had everything except sunroof...styling now out of date, but was there in 98. Its like my fathers car...a living room with plush upholstery. Bars starting to be felt in drivers seat...got a heat/vibrate cushion...now life is great again...

1998 Lumina tops all cars Ive owned - 1998 Chevrolet Lumina
By Ruth Samuels - October 10 - 9:46 amAfter 10 years of driving the 1998 Lumina, I have found it is the most reliable, comfortable, safe car Ive owned. It has features which I have just discoved many 2008 cars still dont have: electronically adjustable drivers seat, daytime running lights, automatic headlights, a great engine without any hesitation which has always run smoothly and quietly. This car has never left me stranded - it seems to be indestructible and has always been exceptionally reliable. Plenty of room. Most important: no engine or transmission problems at all in 10 years, at 132,000 miles. It could go to 200,000 easily. I have owned a Corolla, Camry, Altima, & Buick. The Lumina has been the best by far!
