Cons:
  • Vague steering, soggy suspension on base and LS models, low-buck interior.

  • A lot to like! - 2005 Chevrolet Impala

Just purchased a 2005 Impala Base model with 13K miles, have had it almost a month. Very, very quiet interior, easy to read guages, logical controls that are well placed and easy to use with gloves on in the winter time. Seat is bit soft for my taste but its very comfortable nonetheless. Handles as it should, not a Porsche, but a quiet, well built, easy and low maintenance 6 passenger sedan with great fuel economy. Edmunds needs to get over the dash/interior -they make it out to be junky - which it is not. Its functinal, easy to read, easy to use - what do they want in a 4-door sedan? Add a few more thousand for real wood if thats what makes them happy - for me, its perfect!

  • Impala...What more could you want? - 2005 Chevrolet Impala

OK, first of all...Id not even compare this car to anything else. I simply could never find anything I like as well as the Impala or the Monte Carlo. I have owned a 2000,2002,2003,& this 2005. I strayed away once, just once & came back to what I knew was an amazing car. Trouble free, fantastic gas mileage (have got 35mpg twice now on hwy), classic Chevy looks & comfort for tall people like me. Another thing is, I dont feel like a nerd driving it like I would a Camry, Accord or Jetta!

  • Sporty and Practical - 2005 Chevrolet Impala

I bought a used 2005 Impala and absolutely love it. I feel like Im driving a sports car, yet I can load up the family and go. Great gas mileage for a V-6 (29 - 31 mph). The ride is very quiet, smooth, and comfortable. You get a lot of value for your money, as even the base line model feels sporty and has lots of "extras." The crash-test ratings were fantastic too which should make my insurance company happy.

  • This is an amazing family car. - 2005 Chevrolet Impala

This is an amazing family car. I can fit three pairs of skiis, a snowboard, boots, and luggage in the trunk and five people in the car and the drive is still good, still powerful. This car has great acceleration and agility without excessive lean, on the road in the summer and winter. I am the only one who can get up my steep hill in the winter with my Impala without slipping and sliding.

Its not my Z28 Camaro with the LT1 engine, but then again Im not stopping at every gas station on the way home. Great performance for a V-6, alot more than I had expected.

  • New Impala - not flashy, but refined - 2005 Chevrolet Impala

A very good car overall. I shopped Camry, Accord, and Taurus before choosing the Impala. Reliability, value for the money, and dependability were key decision criteria.

  • My car - 2005 Chevrolet Impala

I love it. Very quiet. I like the automatic lights, it helps me whe I forget to switch them off. The console between the front seats is perfect and has just the right sized holes for my cell phone, gate opener, and dont forget my Starbucks!

  • Big, Sweet Ride - 2005 Chevrolet Impala
    By -

All the features I wanted and nothing more. Cruises great at 70. But if you want the supercharger it will let you know its there. I drive a lot during any given day and dont feel drained getting home as before. Ergonomics are fine. Dont pay attention to the pinhead critics that dont like the layout of the cup holders and derate the entire vehicle. Not impling there are things I wouldnt change or like changed (full display with XM, and location of parking brake) with the interior, but for the money Im not complaining. Love the body style, small in front and big in back.
