Overview & Reviews
GM has resurrected the Impala nameplate (a staple in Chevy's lineup from 1959 to the early '80s and then briefly from 1994 to '96 ) and put it on an all-new full-size sedan body that rides on the Lumina front-drive platform. Although the Lumina itself is back for the 2000 model year, Impala will eventually replace it as Chevy's large-car entry to battle the likes of Ford's Crown Victoria, Buick's LeSabre and Chrysler's LH cars.
- Six-passenger seating availability, big brakes, torquey V6 engines.
- So-so styling, no V8, big front-drive cars rarely sell as well as big rear-drivers.

Dependable Car - 2000 Chevrolet Impala
By Jaun - April 3 - 2:00 amAfter 195,000 miles in 4 years this car still rides like new. The Impala is the most dependable car I have ever owned. Normal Maintenance and it keeps on going.

Dicks Impala - 2000 Chevrolet Impala
By randr - March 14 - 2:00 amBought the car in Wenatchee,I understand it was the second one sold in the area ,so I paid almost full bore ! The car has only 2 problems that Cascade Chev couldnt or wouldnt solve1st the radio gets very POOR reception outside of town ,every time I tried to get it fixed they said the problem couldnt be dupilcated, ( I guess so,nobody takes time to drive it far enough out of town ). And the front break rotors seem to warp every 6000 or so miles ,been turned 4 or 5 times and replaced once ,they blame our driving habits, but my 99 Dakota or previous cars havent had that much of a problem.

I like it - 2000 Chevrolet Impala
By Gtc - February 18 - 2:00 amI was driving a vic for work and i liked that car, but then i got the cevy and i love it. And talk about fast! The only problem with the car was the headlights, but thats due to it being a police car and having all the goodies in it. Im so happy i get to take it home with me every night. And best thing about it is no one knows its a police car. Forget ford, im stickin with the cevy.

dont waste your time! - 2000 Chevrolet Impala
By cmont496 - January 31 - 2:00 ami brought the car with 17,900 miles,,,,at 19000 miles the engine coolant came on, and loud metallic noise started while making turns, the dealer replaced the engine coolant sensor, and found no cause for the noise. at 20420 the engine coolant light came on, thank god i check when these lights come on, the coolant leaked in with the engine oil. it is now 15 days and counting, and the car is still at the dealer with the heads out, and still no clue as to why this happened, i truely will not waste my time with another domestic car, no wonder there are so many people buying toyotas!

Love My Chevy - 2000 Chevrolet Impala
By earthmofo - December 27 - 2:00 amI bought my Impala June of 1999. Ive had the car for almost 5 years only very minor problems. About 4 months into having the car my O2 sensor went out. I brought it into the dealership and they fixed it same day no problem. I didnt have another problem until 3 years later when my front driver side window stopped working. Just needed a new switch. Other than standard maintenance (new rotors and struts on the front after 50,000 miles) Ive had no problems in 87,000 miles. The mileage includes 3 trips from CA to OK and lots of trips from So Cal to Vegas. One time I made it from L.A. to Vegas in 3 hours doing 100mph on a single tank of gas!

I luv my caw - 2000 Chevrolet Impala
By impala_luver - October 18 - 2:00 amEven though Im 25 and Im driving a chick magnet on wheels, I still cant seem to get a date. I thought the heated seats would "warm things" up a bit, but to no avail- but seriously i love the sunroof, heated seats, steering wheel layout controls-radio, the radio adjustment to windspeed, smooth handling, and fun to drive. All my friends want to take it from me on trips. I am an impala junkie.
