Chevy engineers did a fine job on this design, however, a few more changes would make customer rating better. I find it difficult to determine where the rear of the vehicle is when backing up. I love the handling and performance of the Impala LS and find it to be a reliable automobile.

I purchased one of the last 2005s at my local dealer, it was on the showroom floor. So far, I really enjoy this car, its comfortable, runs real well (3.8L V-6), and returns exceptional gas mileage. My commute is 100% city, no highway driving, in fact, I rarely get this car on the highway, and I consistently average 19 m.p.g. in city driving, not bad for a large 5 passenger sedan. The dash is a bit dated, but the exterior still has alot of appeal, and one of my favorite things about the exterior is that it is instantly recognizable as a Chevy, especially at night when the taillamps are lit !

This is the first car I have bought that feels like a real car, since 1976. This is a great car for the money, smooth, great ride. All the good stuff. Plenty of space. I drove from PA to FL. No problem. If you need a big car this one you have to look into. Get the 3.8 v6 or if you so need the v-8 is fast and will take you back to when cars were cars. It is a great car

My 3rd Impala since the new model in 2000 - kept the second so hubby can commute with it. Our kids are amazed at how spunky these sedans are, and the mileage is amazing. The SS mileage is lower, but of course the ave. speed is higher...great fun to drive. Makes the 2 hours/day a treat most days.

This has been a great car with excellent fuel economy. It has the 3.4 V6. I get about 32 MPG on the highway which is very good for a full sized car. Its the leader in its class for fuel economy. It gives you a very comfortable, quiet, smooth ride. This car has never been back to the shop for anything other then oil changes. I would highly recommend this vehicle. I have talked to others that have owned Impalas and they have all had nothing but praise for the vehicle. It was priced much cheaper than the Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord and I felt a much better value after I did my comparison test drives. All I can say is dont sell yourself short by not trying one. Its been a great car.

I was worried that my Chevy Impala would not compare well with Toyotas, Hondas, Dodges, and VWs that I have owned, but I was pleasantly surprised. Quality, economy, ride, reliability are all outstanding. I think American cars, at least for the ease of servicing and the relative price, are commonly underrated. The Impala compares very favorably with the Honda Accord and even with the Dodge 300, both of which I have either owned or driven. Quiet, responsive, respectable (my 19 yr old college student daughter says it is "swank"): it is the perfect car for my 54 yr-old tastes.

First drove this car on a rental as well as various other vehicles, but when it came to actually putting my money where my mouth was, I chose to buy the Impala. This is my second Chev, I replaced my 13 year old Cavalier with this Impala. Solid drive, power when needed. Handles well on windy wintery highways so one feels secure. Size, styling and ride comfort has impressed both friends and family. Fuel economy for this size vehicle a big plus. My Dad drives an Impala and my sister drives the Malibu. Some engine noise on acceleration, but quietens downs upon reaching desired speed, very quiet on ignition, you wonder if the car is even running. Worth your investment

I bought a 2005 impala ls with 25,000 miles and I have found no problems with it. This is a very fun to drive car. I am over 6 tall and the Impala gives me a very comfortable ride, while still giving plenty of room for passengers. I have seen no issues with the interior, exterior, or the handling of the car. This was a very nice upgrade from my Ford Taurus.

  • A great car for the money - 2005 Chevrolet Impala

I have owned 6 Impalas since 2000, 3 base models and 3 Ls sedans. We have owned the 2000, 2003, and now the 2005. We have had virtually no problems with any of them. They are very dependable, comfortable, and get good gas mileage for their size. Safety record is also a major plus. It is a great car for the money. I have owned Cadillacs, Mercedes, and Ford products and I can say without a doubt that the Impala is a trouble-free car in every respect. Would recommend it highly to anybody.

  • Comfort, size, economy - 2005 Chevrolet Impala

Third Impala I have owned-very comfortable leather buckets. Ride is smooth and predictable, larger six provides enough power and fine economy on the highway (30+ mpg). Overall mixed driving gives 22-23 mpg. Everything works the way it should, no surprises-Wouldnt recommend if you are looking for a tire burner or rally vehicle-this car is solid, dependable and comfortable to drive.
