Dont buy this car!!! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Cindi Mooney - December 30 - 6:44 pmTheyou decided know a different kind of transmission with no dipstick so you cannot add or check the levels, so you have to take it to a tranny shop or dealership which runs you $250 just to change it...but...then the transmission fails anyhow... $3000 to put a new one in...by this time the car is not even worth that much!!! Biggest regret was buying the stupid thing!!

disappointed - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By pstrickland - November 27 - 10:20 ampurchased used, after trading in what we thought was our excellent condition money pit trailblazer. not so sure we did the right thing here. sure I paid lots on some repairs to the trailblazer over the last 3 yrs but I know what was done and it was an amazing vehicle. wouldnt hesitate driving it out of state. this equinox on the other hand, Im not so sure Im willing to drive it across town! went to family dinner, came home and the entire car was shaking and sounded like my tires were about to fall off. Ive had it to the dealer more times than Ive had it in my driveway. purchased less than a month ago and its been there more than its been home with us. Im really upset and fear for our familys future on this - dealers screwing families daily has got to stop! if selling a car to make a buck is more important to you than the safety of another human being, then youre a worthless individual.

Do Not Buy! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

The details are too long to list but there have been issues from the beginning ranging from engine trouble to the interior simply falling apart. Unfortunately I am stuck with this vehicle right now but unless the President of Chevy personally calls me to apologize and offers me a free vehicle I will never drive Chevy again. Please take my advice and do the same.

cant wait to trade in - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By scott - October 28 - 1:50 amAt first it was a nice car until the problems started. I had the brakes redone at 14000 miles. The a/c doesnt work on the drivers side. I already have rust starting on the back end. Warranty takes care of these. But I have to put my second windshield in because it cracks in the same spot starting below the rubber near the passenger door. Niether of them are from cracks The most annoying part is that I cant clean snow off of the windshield because of the design. The snow gets stuck and builds up because the "wings" that stick further out than the windshield. I am currently looking for a new car.

By Mike - June 19 - 2:12 pmBought this on 2/7/09, traded on 6/14/09. Worse care I ever bought. HAd less than 50,000 miles when I bought it and 6 weeks after purchase was hit with a $2700 repair bill. Dealership said sorry, but nothing we can do for you. I know it was a used car but this was ridiculous. Anyone considering an Equinox...think again. Traded for a 2003 Santa Fe GLS with more miles. Runs better and looks better.

The brakes wear very unevenly, and now theres a creaking with every turn... And fuel economy.. Whats that? I fill up about every other day, its disgusting! Theres no such thing as a quiet drive, this thing picks up every bit of noise! Bad, bad, bad idea... Never again.

Nightmare - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Dave - July 15 - 4:20 pmThis vehicle is by far the worst vehicle I have owned. I have had it in for serivce numerous times, and a solution is never presented. Vehicle is loud at all speeds, acceleration and power is terrible. Ride quality is very rough, and with every bump the vehicle jumps. Have had check engine light, oil light, and engine service light come on about 3-5 times a week. And as far as gas mileage, I average about 15-16mpg. This is by far the worst vehicle I have owned, I regret buying it every day. Please try to avoid this vehicle in any way.

The cup holder cannot be used with the E-brake in the way, the sun visor blocks the entire window when down. And the 41.7 foot turning radius? Good luck making a U-turn! Listed at 19-25mpg. We drive 90% freeway and get barely 20mpg even after installing K&N filter.

I have had the check engine light, check oil light, and airbag light come on at least 5-7 times a week. The car has more rattles than a 200,000 mile junker, and with every bump hit, you swear it is going to fall apart. Also, the vehicle has a selective starting problem. It will start some mornings, and other mornings it wont. Everyday there is a new problem and a new mystery cause no one can seem to fix the problems. This is by far the worst vehicle that anyone could ever choose to own

By jay - October 11 - 7:56 amThe car has problems with water leaks. Had problems with brakes. Needed new windshield. Gas mileage poor. Comfort leaves much to be desired. Very disatisfied with the car and also GM. If they ever get the leak fixed and it drys out I can get rid of it. That will be the happiest day with my Equinox.
