Overview & Reviews
The Equinox is an all-new compact SUV from Chevrolet. It shares a platform with the Saturn Vue and offers similar levels of space and versatility for buyers seeking practical suburban transportation.
- Standard V6 engine, long wheelbase affords plenty of interior room, fore/aft-adjustable rear seats, available side curtain airbags.
- Costs as much as the more powerful Saturn Vue, limited drivetrain choices, confusing stereo controls.

Still New - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By frank - July 23 - 3:53 amHave Equinox for several weeks, plenty of room for seating five. Pickup is good and handles excellent in the snow. Exterior looks got me in, pricing and room sold me. The mileage on the sticker needs to be recalculated, I am averaging 15 mpg. Dont lie about this data, comsumers will pick up on this

A Womans SUV Dream - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Cynthia - July 15 - 11:40 pmI always wanted an SUV. One not too high to get into, or to big to park. And along came the Equinox. I had a Tracker, but that was just a starter of a SUV. I think I bought the first one in Syracuse, NY. If GMAC were to check their records Im sure they could verify that. It is rated as an SUV but it rides almost like a Cadillac, smooth as pie. If I had more time to purchase my vehicle, I would have gotten a sun roof and a black one. But due to the rush of purchase I had to get one off the lot. Nevertheless, I still love it.

Loving My Equinox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Jacqueline - July 7 - 1:00 pmI truly love this vehicle. My Equinox is easy to control, drives wonderfully, very good on gas and it LOOKS good. I love all the room within the vehicle. And the features I truly enjoy, such as the DVD player, satellite radio, sunroof and the OnStar. I especially like the OnStar system, due to the fact that I know Im protected at all times. The vehicle notifies you of mechanical problems.

NOX FOX - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By ArizonaDustMan - June 14 - 10:00 amI like this vehicle a lot. It is roomy, quiet and very comfortable. I purchased it over a van because I wanted to haul all of my cleaning supplies, yet still have room for 2 or more passengers. My other vehicle is a 2005 Ford Escape, so you know that I prefer these smaller SUV-type vehicles. The difference, however, between the Escape and the Equinox is pretty much day and night. Where the Escape is square, the Equinox is round. The Escapes ride is bumpy the Equinox is Very Smooth. The Equinox is just as much and better than most sedans.

Excellent - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Lisa - May 15 - 8:10 pmThis vehicle was purchased for me in October of 2004. When I first got in the vehicle I felt like I was sitting in total comfort. When I drove it, I was totally surprised how smooth the ride was. I love the fact that everything is reachable and easy to access. I especially love my XM radio, the OnStar system, multiple electric outlets, and the tailgate table. I also love the six CD changer and all the extra space I have when I let down the back seats. I love my Equinox and since I have gotten it I have convinced many friends and other people I have met to purchase one for themselves.

This is my last Chevrolet - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By TLK - May 13 - 1:56 am20 years ago, I was the guy with the T- shirt that said, I would rather push my Chevy than drive a Japanese car. This vechicle converted me. I have always been a GM person. My next vechicle will be a Mazda, Toyota, or Honda. There is no quality. I have had several trips for warranty work. A door handle, a seat belt that wouldnt latch, a strut hatch, and now another seatbelt that wont latch. Now couple that with high road noise, very loud AC fan motor, and cloth seats that wont come clean.

My Equinox Experience - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Christine - April 28 - 5:50 amThis truck is perfect for our family. The best feature is the adjustable rear seat. Somebody rear-ended me and I am renting a Jeep Cherokee. I am finding that the back seat of my Equinox has more room than the Cherokee. The Equinox is reliable, good on gas, not too big or small, and fun to drive. I love it.

I wish it had rims not plastic hub caps - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By diana - April 25 - 2:13 amOverall I really enjoy my new SUV but for the price I paid I should have gotten rims and not plastic hub caps. It makes the SUV look cheap. I have to pay the extra expense to put new rims and tires on it. Also one big flaw it has I had my vehicle for two days and my little sister who is 9 years old got into the back and shut the door and got her seat belt on. I heard some air and had my sister who is 33 who was sitting up front in the passenger seat check her door and then she looked in the side mirrow and noticed it was my sisters door, then I had realized that my new vehicle did not have the system for the doors, only the back hatch light up when a door is ajar. They need to fix that.

Buyer Beware...mileage is terrible! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By CHEMGIRL - April 9 - 11:00 amI purchased this vehicle for its versatilty since I live close to the mountains, and I wanted something with decent gas mileage. It has nice design and good features for the most part. The rear headrests are too high and cause a horrible blind spot, and the leather seats are a little cheap looking. It would be nice if the rear seat folded down flush with the rear cargo area. But my biggest complaint is the gas mileage. I am lucky to get 15 mpg! If I had to do it all over again, I would buy a Rav4 or an Escape. The mileage is very disappointing!
