This Year's Model Updates:

The Equinox is an all-new compact SUV from Chevrolet. It shares a platform with the Saturn Vue and offers similar levels of space and versatility for buyers seeking practical suburban transportation.

Pros:
  • Standard V6 engine, long wheelbase affords plenty of interior room, fore/aft-adjustable rear seats, available side curtain airbags.
Cons:
  • Costs as much as the more powerful Saturn Vue, limited drivetrain choices, confusing stereo controls.

  • How I feel - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I love this car, its very comfortable to drive. I think that it eats a little too much gas, but since I bought it, I dont seem to mind driving. It has plenty of leg room in the back, and the exterior is gorgeous.. I think that all of the cars should have a six-disc CDchanger. I would definitely recommend this car to someone to buy.

I had nothing but used vehicles prior to this, and for the reliability and affordability, you cant beat it. The V6 purrs on the open road, but can be choppy in stop and go traffic. I really wanted something bigger, but until I can afford it, this is a great transition vehicle.

Terrific Value. My first domestic vehicle in 20 years. I compared BMW X3, Volvo XC 90, Lexus 330 and Acura MDX. Although the interior is not the best appointed in the class, the exterior is a grabber. I loaded mine up to be fair with the competition. With my GM supplier discount I paid $24,455 and got $1000 truckfest rebate. I like the no hump in back for kids to get in and out easily. Fuel economy is better than average, but I was suprised my insurance co. rated it a 16. I am looking forward to take it on vacation and see how it does on a longer ride. Maybe GM is on the right track to bring back the aging yuppies!

I have purchased 3 new cars in the last 10 yrs, and this by far exceeds any expectation that I had. The service that was given, the quality of the product, and the overall experience was exceptional. I have never owned a chevy product... They now have a customer for life

Many compliments from friends and strangers. Great safety. Dad spun out on an iced over bridge and ended up sliding over an embankment past the bridge. (travelling at about 60 mph and did not see ice in time to slow down) I feel another vehicle would have rolled. No damage occured, amazingly, owing to luck and the stability of the Equinox.

My 05 Equinox was a good idea from GM. I still get EPA ratings for fuel and its been a very dependable ride. I had some oil leaks between 26K and 30K but were quick repairs at the dealer. The AWD feature is a blessing in the Colorado winters. Glad we got it!

I bought this car in December 2004 and have driven it in the city, on basic roads, and on the interstate. I have also driven this car through a major snow storm and this car blew me away by how it just rammed through the snow and kept a tight grip on the road throughout this storm. Mostly, the car has great shocks and it rides increibly smoothly. Im very pleased and impressed.

Had the SUV for 6 months. Not one problem. Drives and handles beautifully. Lots of room to move all kinds things around, including lumber. Really a solid performer so far. My brother purchased a Chevy SUV first, he travels and has 20,000 miles on his. Not one warranty claim on his either. That is performance.

Transmission has unusual shifts when compromising steep graded hills. Horsepower lacks muscle. Nice car for a Sunday drive on a flat road. Good looking exterior and comfort inside is also good.

wife and i put 800 mi. on vehicle. after returning from trip, i was slowing down for left hand turn. a-arm (axle) literally snapped, luckily at 15- 20 mph. left front wheel base was hanging off. 100 miles earlier, we would of been killed at 70 mph on interstate 90. very serios problem!!! question is, isolated incident???
