Overview & Reviews
The Equinox is an all-new compact SUV from Chevrolet. It shares a platform with the Saturn Vue and offers similar levels of space and versatility for buyers seeking practical suburban transportation.
- Standard V6 engine, long wheelbase affords plenty of interior room, fore/aft-adjustable rear seats, available side curtain airbags.
- Costs as much as the more powerful Saturn Vue, limited drivetrain choices, confusing stereo controls.

Enjoy the car - but not the gas mileage! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By MSFAB - May 27 - 11:43 amI really like the car alot. The exterior design is beautiful - looks like a much more expensive car. Comfort is very good also. The leg room in the back is by far the best. My only problem is the gas consumption. Overall, I would recommend this car.

Best mid size SUV available - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Bernard Yanity - May 25 - 2:00 amThis vehicle has received many comments regarding its design and overall looks. It is very peppy, handles easily, is easy to park and maintain. The rear seat slide feature adds more than enough room for passengers and groceries. I am looking forward to taking a long trip vacation in the near future. Because of its mileage capability, the trip should be inexpensive and great fun.

I love my Equinox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Jim Moore - May 21 - 11:33 pmIt is very attractive and fun to drive. You sit up high so that you have a good field of view and it still allows you to get in and out easily. I am only 5 3." The seats adjust to my stature very well. I can slide my groceries and golf bag in and out of the back with ease. It has lots of pep yet excellent gas mileage. I love this vehicle!

Drove 275 miles to get one! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Rowdyrob - May 21 - 10:00 amMy wife and I had ooked for one since March and finally got our today. It was the LT1SE package. Black with Tan interior leather and it is great looking. It looks like the new BMW SUV. We turned heads the whole ride home. The car handles great. Nice turn radius and low road noise. The inside is very spacious and very driver friendly to operate. We got a shade over 24 MPG on the first interstate drive. It will go up after it is broken in a bit. I am extremely pleased with this vehicle and with the money I spent. Great bang for the buck.

a few complaints - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By army6894 - May 15 - 10:00 amThe car is well built, fun to drive, and very comfortable. My only complaints are that there is no built in ashtray for smokers, and no shield to keep water out if window is partly down. Both these items have to be bought, ordered, and installed. Also, power window buttons on the center console was a dumb idea. Small things, but overall is a great SUV for the price.Previous problems with struts, smell, and water in tire well, have been fixed at factory on new 2005s

Chevrolet did it right. - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Ray Barkey - May 7 - 10:23 pmChevrolet did a fine job of combining a great looking exterior to a well thought out and practical interior. The rear seat room has to be seen to believe and the features like the multiple powerpoints and rear fold away table are very nicely done. The fit and finish are excellent and my vehicle is completely loaded with an MSRP at $28,000. The only drawback was the percentage of foreign components GM put in the vehicle. On-Star, in car telephone, 6 disk CD changer and the huge sunroof are great options. Everything being considered, this is a very nice mid sized SUV with a carlike ride.
