By Rick - April 9 - 1:20 pmPoor mileage but plenty of power, small gas tank, small cramped interior, emergency brake handle hits cup holder, bumps are very rough, pcv valve riveted in, front seats are small, interior has too much plastic, awkward center console, window buttons very confusing, pinch fingers on shift button

Rate this vehicle - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Carole Shull - April 4 - 10:56 pmThis is my first 4 door car. I have always had sport cars. It has been a delight to have room to carry so much. The size is good for women, not hard to handle or to get into. The only trouble so far has been a recall for a hose to be replaced on the cooling system. A water leak from my sun roof was coming into my lights above the mirror on the dash. That was corrected when the hose was fixed. I told other people about how much fun it is to drive. A close friend of mine got one because she liked mine so much. My husband was not crazy about getting it & giving up a sports car, but now thinks it has been his favorite one to drive. The first time I saw Equionx was on ithe nternet, and I did research before test driving it.

Nice on the outside, but ... - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By njEquinox - March 22 - 6:06 pmWe have had our Equinox for about 3 months now. We bought it because it had a great look, great safety ratings, and decent "advertised" fuel economy. All of our expectations have been met except for the fuel economy, which has been very poor. For the first 3000 miles (mostly suburban driving), we have averaged 17.6 miles per gallon. We have a GM mini-van with the same engine that averages 21 mpg in the same driving conditions. The advertised EPA fuel economy for the Equinox was 19 city and 25 highway. Other than that issue, it is a beautiful vehicle that drives well. The overall quality seems to be good. The interior (the dashboard and seats), though, is a bit bland.

Incredible! Is it really a Chevy? - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By adhurdler - March 22 - 10:00 amI went and test drove a FWD LT on Saturday and took it home that evening in Salsa Red(second choice; glad I purchased over Silver; traded in Pontiac Vibe). Wasnt going to buy a new car that day, but couldnt leave without one. Dealer made an offer I couldnt refuse. Let a relative drive and they want one as well(trade in PT Cruiser). Incredible ride quality and handling for a Chevy Truck. Purchase due to need for extra space in back seat and it has plenty of room and then some. It is very quiet, has plenty of power, and it nicely equipped. Take one for a drive and you will take it home!

Petes Equinox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Pete Yevich - March 18 - 2:50 pmIt is a good looking small SUV. It is comfortable and easy to drive. The tracking is excellent. Power is adequate and gas mileage is fair. Many people think Im driving a Luxus. The side view is nicer than the Lexus and costs about $11 thousand less. I would recommend the Equinox to anyone.

Chevy hits a HOME RUN - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Petey B - March 16 - 10:00 amThe Equinox is very smooth at all speeds, and was a pleasure to drive on a recent trip to the shore. The sliding rear seat was a huge plus for the trip because we have a 16-month old boy; when my wife and I sat in the front we could slide him forward as far as the seat could go to have him within an easy arms reach. When she wanted to sit in the back with him, we simply moved it all the way back and she had TONS of room to stretch out. Plenty of cargo room either way. The overall design of this SUV is outstanding. Many people say it looks like a Lexus SUV, and just think that I paid TENS of THOUSANDS LESS! This is by far the best vehicle Ive ever owned.

Only one minor flaw... - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Agent99 - March 16 - 10:00 amHas fantastic mileage. I used to own a NIssan Altima and this is my first switch to an SUV. The Equinox seems to get almost the same mileage as my Nissan sedan did! Fantastic for an SUV! However, besides the blind spots in the back, it does not have a dome light for the front (for the driver and passenger). Thats the only pain Ive had so far with it. Besides that, never any problems, very roomy and like I said, we paid about 23 (incl. taxes) for a base awd model. I highly recommend it!

Love my Nox 05 - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By CaddyLady - March 5 - 10:40 amMy husband gave me this car as a birthday gift. No problems. Dont particularly like the back window wash system, but love the way the car handles, and I get about 18 mpg in the city. I have no problem with odors in the car, no water leakage, just occassionally a gas smell in the oil, but I found out that is caused by the synthetic oil used by my mechanic. My next will be Caddy SRX. All my other cars were Fleetwoods. Wanted a small SUV. Ironically, they are both built in the same plant in Canada. But I chose the leather, no OnStar, and no Sirius radio. I like to listen to my cds and books on disc. Maintenance is a key issue. No problems with the original tires, but I took the 17 in rims.

I like it - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Tom K - February 15 - 2:26 pmDrives and rides nice. Like the back seat room and ease of entering and exiting the rear seat. The electric assist power steering is nice. Overall a nice vehicle to have.
