Overview & Reviews
The Equinox is an all-new compact SUV from Chevrolet. It shares a platform with the Saturn Vue and offers similar levels of space and versatility for buyers seeking practical suburban transportation.
- Standard V6 engine, long wheelbase affords plenty of interior room, fore/aft-adjustable rear seats, available side curtain airbags.
- Costs as much as the more powerful Saturn Vue, limited drivetrain choices, confusing stereo controls.

Nice ride - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Ken Boldt - December 13 - 9:26 amOverall I have enjoyed driving the vehicle, however I am somewhat concerned with the way the automatic transmission shifts during acceleration, the tach revs very high before shifting. The rear windows leave some blind spots, however the front seating is comfortable and visability is good in front.

Best Mid-Size SUV for the Money - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By danvilleca - December 6 - 2:26 pmGreat all around SUV. Good looking exterior, clean interior design, plenty of seating room, V6, drives smooth, and good saftety ratings. For the money its far superior to the Honda CRV.

Equinox is a winner - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By pistol - December 3 - 10:00 amVehicle has been fun to drive and received many positive comments from co-workers. Styling is a step forward for Chevrolet. I own a near fully loaded LT model. Car performed excellent on a trip to the Pocono Mountains. Has the look and feel of more expensive SUVs.

Perfect EXCEPT........ - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By LYN E - November 28 - 10:00 amI love my new Equinox...I was one of the first ones on the streets and I liked the new look. Everything is perfect EXCEPT...the rear headrests are so tall it makes for much difficulty when backing up...this also causes a bad blind spot when you look in the rear view mirror. It handles great, super fuel economy, great stero sound...excellent comforts with the leather interior (the cloth seats are very hard). I love Chevey and this is a great little truck!!

Very Pleased! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Dave - November 15 - 9:50 pmWe have three children 6, 16, and 17 yrs old, two of which have long legs! We searched over for something to accomodate our family with size, price, and a great look without feeling like we were driving around in a bus! Equinox was the answer, and we are considering buying a second. Very pleased with our choice.

Equinox a Bust - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Jeff - October 29 - 10:16 pmGas mileage is poor, only average 12mpg. The seats stain with water. It has a horrible turning radius, and more rattles than a can with marbles. Cheap interior finish. All painted interior surfaces are scratched or peeling off. Has a terrible radio, have a hum in the rear.

Equinox...Luxury for $30K! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Gustave1 - October 28 - 7:16 amI bought my Equinox in August and it was the best thing I have done in a long time. I began looking at just the LT Base packages, but when I saw the Summit White with the LT 1SE package, I couldnt resist. It had everything that my BMW had, but for $10K less. The tan leather with the Summit White clearcoat is a beautiful combo. The power and fuel economy is outstanding. I just graduated High School and I drive to college and I get close to 30 MPG with 185 HP...WOW!!!

SATISFIED CUSTOMER - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By ADRIAN CLARK - October 16 - 10:00 amPicked my Equinox up end of July and drove to upstate New York after hurricane Charlie. After driving 3000 miles at high speeds on the highway and much town driving I have averaged 22 mpg which is the same as my Pontiac Montana van that I had prior to the Equinox. I very much like the vehicle, both style and performance, my only cticism is that the seats could be plusher. I believe Chevy have done a great job with this vehicle but could add a couple of low cost features like the performance information that was available in the van eg average mpg, range etc.
