This Year's Model Updates:

The Equinox is an all-new compact SUV from Chevrolet. It shares a platform with the Saturn Vue and offers similar levels of space and versatility for buyers seeking practical suburban transportation.

Pros:
  • Standard V6 engine, long wheelbase affords plenty of interior room, fore/aft-adjustable rear seats, available side curtain airbags.
Cons:
  • Costs as much as the more powerful Saturn Vue, limited drivetrain choices, confusing stereo controls.

  • Great Vehicle - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

We owned two Chevy Blazers and decided to buy a new vehicle. We were shown the Equinox, but had never heard of it and were alittle skeptical of a brand new vehicle to the market. We took it for a test drive and love the way it handled. We traded are Blazer in and now are the proud owners of the Equinox. First, this SUV is priced just right for the middle class family. Secondly, once you get behind the wheel you are sold. The interior and exterior of this vehicle is beautiful. The dash is user friendly, so you are not looking for control knobs and switches. From the side, not only does the Equinox resemble a Lexus SUV, but it rides like one.

  • Smooth Ride - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

Moving up from a Zuziki Sidekick, we have found this vehicle to be a very smooth riding, great looking, easy to drive "car". Great view from front window, great view thru rear view mirror. But passengers have complained about rear head rest. And they do block some rear vision, though not much. Window controls are a little difficult. They should all light up like the drivers does. Adjustable rear seat is great. Center air conditioning vent should have more upward adjustment. The parking brake is in a kind of awkard position. Hood is easy to open and easy to handle. Dashboard is nice. We love the large sun roof. My favorite part is the acceleration, which is great!

  • Equinox - the Right Balance - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

Equinox is aptly named for its balance between the "too small" sport ute and the larger SUVs. This is my 4th SUV and its the one Ive been looking for! Just right. Its much quieter than my Ford Escape (very important to me). Its easy to get in and out of and my black lab fits in nicely. I love this Chevy!

  • My New Equinox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I drive alot of miles and practically live in my car, so comfort is the first thing I considered when making my purchase. The heated leather seats provide superior comfort to any of the other American made SUVs that I tested. The V6 engine also supplies pleasantly suprising horsepower and sufficient fuel economy. Overall, the performance to date has been outstanding!

  • Best small SUV. Nice and fun, modern - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I have had it for 3 months. I have not had any problems. This car is really fast and it accelerates very quick.Inside is cer spacius Im 61 and I fit really good. I got the LS but I put a new metallic green paint and it looks great. Also I put 20" chrome rims which makes the car look very nice. If you buy one buy the LT because it looks better bcause it has fog lights and inside is better. In other words Ill give this car a 9.5 for a small SUV. 10 if I had the LT.

  • Great value with Classy Aggressive Looks - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

The Equinox is a once in a decade auto- a vehicle that is an incredible value, great performer within its class, but yet likely to be largely overlooked by the purchasing public. The Equinox does not really excel in any one area (except maybe styling-see below), but it is exceptional enough in every single area to make it an extremely enjoyable SUV to own. Combine that with incredible value (my loaded LT FWD was $22,500 off the lot) and you cannot lose.

THIS SUV GETS A 10! I LOVE THE SOUND SYSTEM,LEG ROOM,CARGO SPACE, AND STYLING....I GET SO MANY COMMENTS FROM PEOPLE ON HOW NICE LOOKING THIS VEHICLE IS. I THINK IT VERY MUCH COMPARES TO THE MORE EXPENSIVE LEXUS RX330 :-)CHECK OUT THE BACK VIEW.....YOULL SEE.I ADORE THIS SUV!

  • Grasping onto optimism - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

Vehicle has been in my position for 3.5 weeks now and due to arising problems, the vehicle has been in for service on 5 separate occassions. (A) The service engine light has come on 3x (B) A major component that operates the AC had to be replaced (C) The strut mount bushings now need replacing......after 700 miles. Fortunately I purchased an extended warranty. The dealership has extended excellent service in dealing with each instance. Being a first year vehicle, I realize that you will have "bugs" to work through, however I guess I was spoiled by the realiability of my Trailblazer. Aside from the issues I have experienced, the vehicle is great.

  • EQUINOX OFFERS ECONOMY WITH PERFORMANCE - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Chevrolet Equinox that I purchased from Mission Chevrolet in El Paso, TX. Not only was the dealership ex[erience a fantastic one, but I have found that the Equinox is by far the best bang for my buck. I am a large man that requires a lot of space. However, with gas prices in the $2.25 range, I just cannot justify buying a large truck or SUV. The Equinox has given me the size, comfort and utility I desire combined with the economy that I feel I need. My Equinox is surprisingly agile and gets me into and out of Interstate traffic with ease. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for "that something special."
