This Year's Model Updates:

The Equinox is an all-new compact SUV from Chevrolet. It shares a platform with the Saturn Vue and offers similar levels of space and versatility for buyers seeking practical suburban transportation.

Pros:
  • Standard V6 engine, long wheelbase affords plenty of interior room, fore/aft-adjustable rear seats, available side curtain airbags.
Cons:
  • Costs as much as the more powerful Saturn Vue, limited drivetrain choices, confusing stereo controls.

I bought this SUV for its roomy interior as both my grandson (15) and I are well over six feet. A fine choice, I might add. That rear seat makes a big difference. The style both in and out are very good. ***** I AM 83 AND I LOVE IT *****

Ive had some intial quality problems. The front struts seem to be faulty. They are on back order so it has become a headache to deal with. Overall the rest of the car I have no complants the stereo in excellent. There is more back seat room than any other car Ive been in.

  • NIce looking vehicle for the price - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

We bought this vehicle after doing some considerable shopping. We have always had good luck with GM products so we decided to give this a test dive. I love the exterior design, it looks like it would be a more expensive vehicle then what it is.

  • Best SUV Ive ever owned - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

The head room is awesome. The sliding back seat was a feature I never thought would be an issue, but its been handy. I absolutly love the electric steering. The seat is high enough that I dont have to climb up to get out and not so high that my kids cant climb in without assistance. The 5 star crash test rating is an added bonus. It has so much room in the back to pack all my necessities, as well as having the oomph to get going, even with the air conditioning on full blast. Its been an all around joy to own and drive.

This Suv is a really good ride. Its not to small and not to big. I wanted a SUV that I could easily manipulate like I did with my previous car.

  • I wish it had rims not plastic hub caps - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

Overall I really enjoy my new SUV but for the price I paid I should have gotten rims and not plastic hub caps. It makes the SUV look cheap. I have to pay the extra expense to put new rims and tires on it. Also one big flaw it has I had my vehicle for two days and my little sister who is 9 years old got into the back and shut the door and got her seat belt on. I heard some air and had my sister who is 33 who was sitting up front in the passenger seat check her door and then she looked in the side mirrow and noticed it was my sisters door, then I had realized that my new vehicle did not have the system for the doors, only the back hatch light up when a door is ajar. They need to fix that.

Im very impressed with the awd performance. When excellerating from a stop you can feel the energy from all the wheels instead of just the tork from the back wheels. Also the very roomy atmosphere within the cabin is a plus.

Purchased on 5/30/04. Went in to replace strut bushings at 600 miles. Went in to replace strut bushings at 1400 miles. Was told that there is a design flaw in the struts. Parts ordered. Now almost two weeks and no parts. GM tecnical services was involved at the second occurance. With the exception of this problem, I really like the Equinox. Being 65" tall, I have no problem with entering or exiting. . Right now I feel like returning the Equinox to the dealer for another vehicle. Feel very frustrated with the inactivity in correcting the problem with the suspension. If there is a design flaw, the Equinox should not have been sold without corre

The Chevy Equinox is a stylish vehicle with plenty of room for a family of four, even teenagers. The cargo space is adequate for hauling plants and dirt for gardening. However, my transmission does not move smoothly between gears and the dealer said that that is normal. There is a definite catch as the gears move from first to second and second to third.

  • Great SUV without the Price - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

Great things about this "small SUV" include great response in steering, quick and agile like a car (comparible to the Impala which I have also owned), and great styling, especially from looking head on.
