Overview & Reviews
The Equinox is an all-new compact SUV from Chevrolet. It shares a platform with the Saturn Vue and offers similar levels of space and versatility for buyers seeking practical suburban transportation.
- Standard V6 engine, long wheelbase affords plenty of interior room, fore/aft-adjustable rear seats, available side curtain airbags.
- Costs as much as the more powerful Saturn Vue, limited drivetrain choices, confusing stereo controls.

Silver Nox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By hkycoldrct - December 13 - 9:56 pmOverall a good vehicle. Very comfortable on long trips with an excellent lumbar control and drivers side seat with many positions to choose from. Actual mileage averages 18.5 mpg with 14,000 miles on the vehicle. The motor is fairly strong and responsive. There is ample room if youre going to haul a lot around. The rear seat movement is simply awsome. With the rear seat folded down there is more room than you would imagine for a vehicle this size. I would purchase this car again if I had too.

So far, so good - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By desertdiamond - October 27 - 1:50 amIve had my Equinox for almost a month now and so far the only problems I have noticed is the gas mileage. Far from the 19/25 on the sticker price. I think Im averaging out 16/20. Other than that, no problems at all. I love it and cant believe I waited so long to purchase my first SUV.

I think I got a Lemon - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Jennifer Knauer - October 16 - 8:46 amAt 70,000 km, and on a vehicle only 2 years old a wheel bearing went along with the drive shaft bearing Dealership got GM to cover the parts but I had to pay for labor - not bad. Now at 79,000 km, another wheel bearing has gone. Not impressed - this shouldnt be happening on a 2 year old vehicle. GM is going to cover parts again at least. As for the other points of this vehicle - blind spot really bad at front windows near doors and towards the windshield due to the very large frame. Paint on console chips very easily. Trough at windshield collects a lot of snow, as well as the wheels and you are digging out both areas. Gas mileage could be better for the size of the vehicle.

2005 equinox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By panterab - September 20 - 10:00 amGoing from a Durango to this car was a change especially since I loved my Durango. After having it for a few months I have to admit I love the Equinox now. Great little car to zip around in. Interior is too light and seats show any dirt. Also due to hail storm got significant damage on my hood. Otherwise constructed well

05 Nox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By shaspa81 - August 17 - 3:40 pmI do like my 05 Equinox, but on a long trip my family took, the comfort wasnt the best. There was plenty of room, but I have always had passenger cars which have the seats mounted lower to the floor. I am sure this is the reason for my discomfort on our long trip. The motor could use a bit more power. Even on local highways, the transmission downshifts when going up hills.

MPG - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By rgeida - August 14 - 10:00 amThis would be a great vehicle except for the fact that with only less than 2000 mile we hav never gotten more than 16 mpg. Vehicle was rated for 19/25. That is just not true.....

First new car - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By likethecookies - July 12 - 3:20 amThis car has handled my NJ/NYC commute quite well! I am very impressed with this car, especially all the features you get for the money. Being that I am a recent college grad, this car fits what I need for my money without making me feel completely poor. I am also into outdoor activities like rock climbing and this is a perfect fit for some crash pads and a few friends.

Enjoy the car - but not the gas mileage! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By MSFAB - May 27 - 11:43 amI really like the car alot. The exterior design is beautiful - looks like a much more expensive car. Comfort is very good also. The leg room in the back is by far the best. My only problem is the gas consumption. Overall, I would recommend this car.
