By jwestbrooke - December 24 - 8:46 pmThe 2011 Chevy Cruze is the absolute worst vehicle to ever come out of Detroit. The 2012 Chevy Cruze is not quite as bad. It will prove to be the most rear-ended car ever built. Whenever you are in town, the computer can take control from the driver and make hopelessly stupid mistakes. If you are doing 35 mph and back off the throttle by as much as one milimeter, the computer can take control of the vehicle and decide "Oh, he must want to stop. Here, I will help you." The computer radically downshifts the transmission, shuts down the fuel injectors, alters the ignition timing, and will slow the vehicle to 20 mph within 2 seconds. The computer has taken control. You are helpless.

You WILL be replacing a transmission - 2012 Chevrolet Cruze
By rotary - November 11 - 12:52 pmI purchased a brand new (at the time) Chevy Cruze back in May 2012 and since then have put 70,000 miles on it over the course of 5 years. Pretty standard, Id say. Last week I was on my way to work and the check engine light came on, the engine started revving high, almost like it was downshifting, and when I pulled it to the side of the road it no longer would accelerate. I turned the car off, turned it back on, it would drive a bit but then the same thing would happen. In a nutshell, I took it to a transmission shop and I have to replace the whole dang thing. $3400. Apparently these transmissions are notorious for doing this which leads me to this: Why hasnt GM fixed this in affected vehicles? Wanted to make all aware that are thinking about buying this vehicle.

By dickyeakel - March 3 - 6:52 pmCar was great for first 60,000 miles than all h_____ broke out for most which the factory and dealership provided little support. When heat is on strong smell of antifreeze though intermittent at gets stronger as the fan runs. On Star was great when works. It to failed and to expensive to repair. I have invested over $5,000.00 in other emission repairs over the last 10,000 miles. Many repairs the same, but just out of warranty per the dealer. Best if the government had just let GM fold. They make a terrible product.

By Steve - March 13 - 10:21 amWe ll not much to say but this car has problems, at 50,000 miles its all downhill from there. Camseals leaked, oil pan leaked, need new valve cover because the intake manifold has a check valve that goes bad which screws up the PVC system in this car. Transmission seal leaked at 77,000. Now at 97,000 miles and out of warranty for 3 months and need a new valve cover again, oil pan leaking again. Never in my life have I had a car that has had so many leaks and engine problems.

By Sylvia gross - September 1 - 3:10 amI have had my 2012 for 6 months and the reliabilty is sad . It sounds lije a tractor running. Getting it fix is kije pulling your tooth without medication. Would not but or tell someone else to buy if it gives me any more problems will give it back.

GM MAKES HORRIBLE VEHICLES - 2012 Chevrolet Cruze
By smwavon - October 3 - 9:01 pmHorrible vehicle. I have had nothing but problems. Car revives up and has problem shifting in automatic. I was able to move to manual one time and noticed that going 35 miles an hour the computer had me in 5th gear when I was in automatic. I almost rear ended a semi because the car lunged forward. Sometimes anti freeze smell leaves the engine and comes into the cabin of the car; I have three small children and its either smell the anti freeze or freeze in the winter. I have had the car overheat on me and have to shut it off for no reason at all; fluids were all at normal levels. I have had the breaks decide to not work on me and ended up in a middle of an intersection and three months later
