I have had my 2012 for 6 months and the reliabilty is sad . It sounds lije a tractor running. Getting it fix is kije pulling your tooth without medication. Would not but or tell someone else to buy if it gives me any more problems will give it back.

  • Worst car I have ever owned - 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

I love the look and interior of the car, beautiful. It has pretty good acceleration, but lags and the turbo sounds like a weedeater. The weird jumping forward while braking is kinda scary. At 50k miles driving down the highway the turbo blew- without warning. No lights came on until about 10 minutes later, the famous catch all- stabilitrac light. Folllowed by a bevy of every light in the car. The turbo also caused the engine to blow. Pulled into an NTB (nearest thing) they looked at for $100 determined it was something to do with engine- so warranty. Towed it to dealer. After some run around, turning in every maintenance record- they decide to replace engine and turbo. Then would not reimburse me for the tow or the $100 fee I paid at NTB- very long BS story even after I gave them receipts. 2 days after I got it back- the car would not start. I panicked, called dealer and had it towed again. Guess what- just the battery went dead. So, not warranty and would not pay for tow. Six months now- on the brand NEW engine- coil pack has gone bad, not warranty and the coolant hose is leaking- not warranty. DONE!

  • GM MAKES HORRIBLE VEHICLES - 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

Horrible vehicle. I have had nothing but problems. Car revives up and has problem shifting in automatic. I was able to move to manual one time and noticed that going 35 miles an hour the computer had me in 5th gear when I was in automatic. I almost rear ended a semi because the car lunged forward. Sometimes anti freeze smell leaves the engine and comes into the cabin of the car; I have three small children and its either smell the anti freeze or freeze in the winter. I have had the car overheat on me and have to shut it off for no reason at all; fluids were all at normal levels. I have had the breaks decide to not work on me and ended up in a middle of an intersection and three months later

  • A wonderful surprise - 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

I bought this car new (first American car I had bought in 40 years) to help my son who was a young salesman at a Chevrolet dealership in NC. It has been by far the best car I have ever owned. With over 260,000 miles on the car since March of 2012, I have spent less than $2,500 in total maintenance (not counting oil changes). I had to replace the clutch after 210,000 miles, first set of tires gave me 98,600 miles and had to replace the thermostat and some cooling hoses. I just ordered parts to replace the coolant expansion reservoir and am needing to replace the Valve Cover as it is idling poorly. But these latest repairs are going to be less than $300! Because the average "trade in " value is about $1,200 - $1,500, I am going to keep driving it until it dies!

  • Still going strong after 90k miles - 2012 Chevrolet Cruze

I purchased my 2012 Cruze brand new and sold it at 38,000 miles because I needed a minivan. Im in touch with the new owner, who has been cross country a few times with it. The car has been very good to both of us, with no major issues other than routine maintenance.
