You cant beat it (or even come close to it) without spending at least twice as much money. Kelley Chevrolet was a pleasure to deal with (no I dont work for them they love the car also..........and it shows in how they treat Vette owners)

Simply Unbelievable - 2001 Chevrolet Corvette
By ADE 1000 - August 3 - 2:00 amMy 2001 was my first Corvette after dreaming about owning one since I was a child. The car is simply amazing. The power, grip, and brakes are far more than anyone needs on the street, and are adequate to embarrass pretty much every other car out there on the track. It is also fairly practical, offering a decent ride for a sports car, a fair amount of cargo space, and suprisingly good fuel economy on the highway. My car has never burned a drop of oil and has never needed a trip for the shop for any kind of warranty work. The car also responds well to basic mods, just changing the air intake has taken me past 400hp according to my last dyno run.

By Pedro - July 21 - 2:00 amThis is my second C5, a 2001 roadster.. Ive had it for almost three years now and it consistently makes me smile. The performance, looks, and ride are all worth the price of ownership. I have made "corrections" such as intake, full-length headers and exhaust and the car has rewarded me with improved performance. On two trips from Florida to Bowling Green Kentucky, my vette averaged better than 27MPG!

Room For Improvement - 2001 Chevrolet Corvette
By Jeremy Witt - July 1 - 2:00 amI was unfortunate to receive a lemon Z06 (1Qt of oil for every 500Miles), but I have isolated my review comments to exclude this problem. Chevy eventually replaced the engine. But even with that, I still think you can buy a better car and therefore will be purchasing a 2003 in a few weeks. I really would like Chevy to take some more pride in building these cars with improvements made to the interior design, paint quality, and small details. I find it appaulling to buy a car that brand new will have rim damage because they are still using tire clamp weights. For detailers the badges are a nightmare (especially that rear Corvette inprint).

Top Notch - 2001 Chevrolet Corvette
By Jim Lammers - April 19 - 2:00 amPicked car up from Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY. Toured plant while there, learned a lot. Drove car back to Kansas City area. Owned 2 years now, 16000 miles, and its been perfect. Daily driver for me. Gas and oil changes are all that Ive had to do for maintenance so far - a perfect car. 350HP, 29 MPG (hwy), killer looks, - its been a great experience!
