Overview & Reviews
Traction control (Acceleration Slip Regulation in Chevrolet parlance) is available on all models in 1999, and on the Z28 ASR allows for some tire slip before cutting the power to the rear wheels. Electronic throttle control is newly standard on V6 models, a new engine oil-life monitor tracks specific driving conditions to determine when the next change should occur and a Zexel Torsen differential is employed in the limited-slip rear axle.
- Fun (Base), Fast (Z28) and Furious (SS).
- Chrysler Concorde front styling. Cheapo interior materials.

1999 Z28 by adult driver - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By kjbuster - May 10 - 2:00 amFast, fun to drive, great trip mileage -28 mpg, lots of tire noise inside cab, poor overall quality( two broken sun visors, original battery installation faulty, failed window motor, failed clutch master cylinder, two trips to shop for A/C problems. Too many repairs for a low mileage and carefully driven car.

Bang for your buck and then some! - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By TrompetenGott - February 29 - 2:00 amThis car is a blast to drive, and it looks great. Insurence likes the V6, and its got more than enough oomph to get arround. Cruise controll keeps me out of trouble with the cops because 65 MPH and 85 feel and sound the same in this car. Handles well in corners - you can terrify unsuspecting passengers... The monsoon stereo is a big plus.

A Dream Come True - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By S.Hall - February 17 - 2:00 amThis vehicle has been the car of my dreams since 1998, when I first saw a 98 Camaro SS. While this isnt the SS, its easy to make it look and act like one. The styling of this car is controversial, you either love it or hate it. The front end looks stolen from the Chrysler Concorde to many, and share a distinct similarity... but thats where any comparison ends. This car is FAST, STRONG, and the very picture of AMERICAN MUSCLE!

Good while it lasted. - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By Dave GG - January 12 - 2:00 amGreat car, but transmission problems after 30K miles. Once the warranty ran out, Chevy abandoned me, wouldnt stand behind their work and raked in the repair bucks.

My Dream Car - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By sdream696 - January 12 - 2:00 amCamaros have always been a favorite of mine, and my car has only reinforced this attitude. My friends and family know that my car is a part of Chevrolet, American history. Never before or since could you get this sort of bang for the buck! I paid $24K in Sept. of 1998, and have absolutley NO COMPLAINTS. No problems, excellent performance, and great quality. Five summers of fun, fun, fun... GM did their homework on these cars... I will keep my car so that my kids will someday know what a musclecar really is. Oh yeah, it eats V-8 Mustang Cobras for lunch. :-)

wish you were here - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By Z28Rick71 - December 19 - 2:00 amThis car is a blast to drice, especially if you crave American muscle-car performace. V8 Power, a loud exhaust, and that classic jet fighter look, although later editions of this rear-drive torque-monster have a face like the Concorde, and we are not talking about the supersonic jet here either. On long trips the harsness of the Z28 experience can get on your nerves but the gas mileage will be surprisingly good. I have gotten 26 MPG in this car! driven strictly around town expect a mere 16. especially if you have a haeavy foot.

everything in a sports car - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By Ara - August 28 - 2:00 amThis is the sports car that Ive always wanted. It is long, sleek and beautiful. It has the power Ive been longing since I gave up my 87 Grand National (big mistake that was). I feel comfortable and it rides great. Great bang for your buck!

awesome car! - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By raceguy333 - August 14 - 2:00 amThis is my second car (second camaro) and it is great. I originally had a 95 coupe, and after moving up to a 99 z28, i have to say that the power is excellent! The only problem i have had is a dead battery, but i was running a 2000-watt stereo off the factory battery that was 4 years old.. that is to be expected.
