Overview & Reviews
Traction control (Acceleration Slip Regulation in Chevrolet parlance) is available on all models in 1999, and on the Z28 ASR allows for some tire slip before cutting the power to the rear wheels. Electronic throttle control is newly standard on V6 models, a new engine oil-life monitor tracks specific driving conditions to determine when the next change should occur and a Zexel Torsen differential is employed in the limited-slip rear axle.
- Fun (Base), Fast (Z28) and Furious (SS).
- Chrysler Concorde front styling. Cheapo interior materials.

1999 Z28 by adult driver - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By kjbuster - May 10 - 2:00 amFast, fun to drive, great trip mileage -28 mpg, lots of tire noise inside cab, poor overall quality( two broken sun visors, original battery installation faulty, failed window motor, failed clutch master cylinder, two trips to shop for A/C problems. Too many repairs for a low mileage and carefully driven car.

Bang for your buck and then some! - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By TrompetenGott - February 29 - 2:00 amThis car is a blast to drive, and it looks great. Insurence likes the V6, and its got more than enough oomph to get arround. Cruise controll keeps me out of trouble with the cops because 65 MPH and 85 feel and sound the same in this car. Handles well in corners - you can terrify unsuspecting passengers... The monsoon stereo is a big plus.

Good while it lasted. - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By Dave GG - January 12 - 2:00 amGreat car, but transmission problems after 30K miles. Once the warranty ran out, Chevy abandoned me, wouldnt stand behind their work and raked in the repair bucks.

wish you were here - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By Z28Rick71 - December 19 - 2:00 amThis car is a blast to drice, especially if you crave American muscle-car performace. V8 Power, a loud exhaust, and that classic jet fighter look, although later editions of this rear-drive torque-monster have a face like the Concorde, and we are not talking about the supersonic jet here either. On long trips the harsness of the Z28 experience can get on your nerves but the gas mileage will be surprisingly good. I have gotten 26 MPG in this car! driven strictly around town expect a mere 16. especially if you have a haeavy foot.

everything in a sports car - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By Ara - August 28 - 2:00 amThis is the sports car that Ive always wanted. It is long, sleek and beautiful. It has the power Ive been longing since I gave up my 87 Grand National (big mistake that was). I feel comfortable and it rides great. Great bang for your buck!

Destorys the Mustang - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By Eric_20 - January 19 - 2:00 amThis car performs great. I live in a quite small city with less than 50000 people that is overfilled with crappy mustangs. Having the only camaro convertible (while being only 20 years old) is nice because of all the constant looks. Overall, its been a great car so far and Im gonna be with it for a long time.

Total Blast for under $15000!!!!!!! - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By Dmonte3 - January 12 - 2:00 amWhat a blast to drive! Pop out the T- tops, crank up the tunes, and find the road with the most curves! People often disrespect the V-6 Camaro, favoring the V-8. Those are the ones who have never driven one! Granted, its not a 305 horse monster like the Z-28, but the lighter V-6 placed nearly under the dashboard helps for much better weight disribution and go-cart like handling. The car has enough power to be fun, yet is quite controllable and predictable. It isnt a Z-28 but then again, it has nothing to prove....only to impress!

Fun and Reliable! - 1999 Chevrolet Camaro
By F-Body Fan - September 12 - 2:00 amIve driven my 99 V-6 coupe almost 50k miles now, and it has operated flawlessly. It has only been in the shop once for a blown catalytic converter, which was covered under warranty. Snow tires make winter driving a lot easier in northern areas. Its amazing what you can fit in this car if youre creative - Ive hauled over a yard of mulch, 32" TVs, gas grills. Gas mileage averages around 20MPG with mixed city/hwy driving. Definitely get the manual trans - my 96 with the auto wasnt nearly as fun. Overall a great car for the price! Dont waste your money on the V-8 unless you live somewhere with a lot of open roads and no cops.
