Overview & Reviews
Chevy's pint-sized Aveo gets a few changes for 2006. Safety is improved thanks to standard side airbags, new dual-stage front airbags and longer-length rear seatbelts. Other updates include new options like alloy wheels and cruise control, a retuned suspension for better steering response, and tilt-adjustable front headrests. The Aveo's engine has also been tweaked to meet the ULEV-II emissions standard this year.
- Low price, nimble handling, ample headroom, logical control layout, loads of cargo room in hatchback models, standard side airbags.

Awful gas mileage - 2006 Chevrolet Aveo
By gangrel101 - January 14 - 1:15 pmI had just bought my Aveo broke it in and took it to Chicago, While on the highway my mileage averaged 25, this is going at a constant speed. Now that I am back home I filled up last night and I am getting 22 miles per gallon. This car does not get anywhere close to the mileage they say and I took it in and they claimed nothing is wrong with it. So dont buy this car for the mileage!

Disappointing MPG - 2006 Chevrolet Aveo
By Pat B - January 7 - 2:51 pmPurchased 06 Aveo mid October 05 with main objective "minimizing fuel cost" What a disappointment, I am only getting an average 19-20 MPG which is 6 miles less per gallon than my Grand Prix. Overpaid for this car $13,000+ which is my fault, but I know I could have done better.

Love this car! - 2006 Chevrolet Aveo
By hayhay - January 6 - 3:44 pmThis car is so much fun to drive. It doesnt feel like you are even moving and suddenly you are cruising along at 85mph. I definitely recommend taking it for a test drive.

Little burst of sunshine!!! - 2006 Chevrolet Aveo
By Aileen - November 19 - 2:32 pmI just picked up my Aveo this past thursday and I am in LOVE!!! I got a manual LT fully loaded in Summer Yellow my payments are great and I couldnt enjoy driving more! This is the best car I have owned second only to my 1991 Volvo Bertone. It zips through traffic with no hesitation at all. Its easy to get in and out of because the seats are nice and high. I had searched for months on the internet looking for a new car that would suit my needs, I travel alot, am a student and dont have alot of money-for those reasons and more the AVEO is perfect. Also the dealership was knowledgeble and friendly, not pushy. I recommend this car to everyone-its the NEW BEETLE!!!!

Getting to know it still.... - 2006 Chevrolet Aveo
By Curt - November 13 - 5:11 pmIm + 6 and fit comfortable in the front. It reminded me of a diesel Fiat Ide driven in Italy. Main purchase purpose is a commuter car. Seating provides good visability for everyone inside. So far its a fun nimble, very easily parkable little car. It has the Europeon reverse shift pattern.

By bonnie schmidt - November 3 - 7:21 pmThe automaitc transmission shifts really, slow when cold. Other than that I love it. Good running, great gas mileage. I would buy another one.

Great car for a small price - 2006 Chevrolet Aveo
By Mike - October 28 - 3:15 pmI bought my Aveo to move from Kansas City to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and have been driving it everyday. I have no complaints about the car. The price was right for me at the time and I never had to worry about the car not starting etc. at all. It may not be the quickest car on the road but then again, youre not going to be paying for all of the gas the quicker ones do. All in all, great car and Id recommend it to anyone.

Not so good - 2006 Chevrolet Aveo
By Vic - October 27 - 2:18 pmI bought the 05 Aveo in July and the care is OK. Im not sure why people are raving about the gas mileage as I only get 23mpg in the city with automatic. Besides the gas complaint, my headlights went out after 2 months and my suspension needed to be tightened and still does every so often. For the price of this car, it is hard to beat if your planning to keep it a very long time.

Great price and good mileage - 2006 Chevrolet Aveo
By John - October 26 - 12:03 amBought my special value Aveo for under $7000 brand new. Man what a deal, and Im getting 35-37 mpg every tankful in mixed driving with ~ 2200 miles on it so far. Cant wait for it to get all the way broken in. I paid $12000 for a Toyota Tercel in 1995 and it didnt have the power or room that the Aveo does although it did get 40 mpg. So that means I paid just over half of what the Tercel cost me 10 years ago. Whats there not to love ?
