This Year's Model Updates:

The Chevrolet Aveo has been significantly updated for 2007. Chevrolet says the sedan model has been fully redesigned, but we believe that to be an overstatement given that its wheelbase and interior dimensions are the same as on last year's model, as are its engine and transmissions. The sedan does have a slightly larger exterior size, all-new styling, improved interior trim and additional feature content in the form of new audio systems, a center armrest and an integrated radio antenna. Meanwhile, Chevy has renamed last year's four-door hatchback the Aveo5 and discontinued its LT trim but otherwise left it unchanged.

Pros:
  • Low price, nimble handling, ample headroom, logical control layout, loads of cargo room in hatchback models.
Cons:

  • My first car - 2007 Chevrolet Aveo

So this car..what can i say about it. I bought it with 190,000kms on it in 2015 (in Canada we go by KMS). The lady who owned it before me took very good care of it, the interior was in mint condition. This vehicle is a piece of crap. Luckily I dont use the highway to commute to work.... because everytime I take this thing on the highway I do not feel safe. The car overheats and loses power after about 25-30 minutes of driving. I had to call a tow truck to come get me one time because it just felt like it would die on me at any moment. The interior design is also crap, the cupholder are right above the gearshift, so if you have a full coffee it will most likely spill all over your gearshift and your car. Beyond all the problems ive just stated, i have to admit i still rely on this car to take me to work everyday and thats really all its good for. I like that it is good on gas, probably take about 35-40$ to fill it up entirely. I would buy chevy again, just not the aveo.

Bought it pre-owned but it was certified. Had it tested at Chevy dealership and they said a good car for the money. Only had it 3 years drive it in Houston to and from work and so far have replaced throttle body assembly 3 times, replaced both front struts at 34000 miles as they were leaking, had an oil leak, replaced shifter assembly & sensor most recently as car would not shift out of park. to day car has been in shop for repairs 14x since April 2008. Not including regular maintenance which I do regular. Purchased this as I needed a reliable car good on gas to go to and from work. A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT & BIG MISTAKE. tryign to work something out with GM & Chevy and so far no results -(

  • Not good in the real world - 2007 Chevrolet Aveo

We have the automatic transmission, and believe me the gas mileage is no where thry say it should be. were lucky if we get 27 -28 on the highway and maybe 19 -21 in the city. Winter driving is even worse and when it gets below 20" the car never really warms up. While it is a fun car to drive the inside is layed out poorly, Of the worst the cup holders are right in front of the controls which makes the controls hard to use. Over all I would never buy another Aveo unles they made major improvements. Ive been A GM owner all My life and this has been one of my worst experiences.

Our Aveo has 63,000 miles. We purchased it as a small reliable car for our son who is in college. The car isnt what was promised. The radio comes on when the weather is damp or when it rains. The airbag sensor is on and one corner of the airbag cover came off. We have had problems with the horn blowing and the interior lights. The recall concerning the fuel pump running in a front end collision has us concerned too. After 4 calls GMC is finally working with us. We will not buy another one.

6,500 miles - in for repair 4 times. 1 - bad light relay 2 - would not accelerate, bad throttle body 3 - overheating and no air conditioner, told it was low on anti-freeze. 4 - engine is bad. Knocked loudly from cam shaft. We are still waiting for a short block and head. This averages out to less than 2,000 miles per repair. The dealer has been Nice and Chevy is paying for a rental, but what a pain for a new car. And we bought a new so we wouldnt have to deal with this sort of thing. We are highly disappointed.

This vehicle is cheap, but that says a lot for the quality of the vehicle. At 3000 miles, the windshield cracked....manufacturer defect. At 13000 miles, lost all my oil, which the oil light never came on...currently in the shop having the seals and gaskets in the engine replaced...might as well replace the whole engine. I bought this car for the gas mileage. Averaging about 28 miles per gallon on highway, and about 25 with the air conditioner on. Not good! The car shakes like it needs to be aligned, which I did and also had new, high quality tires put on and it still shakes terribly. I am truly scared to drive this car in high wind and rain. Hydroplanes bad!
