Overview & Reviews
The Chevy Avalanche truck rumbles into 2006 with minor changes only. These include a new design for the Avalanche's optional mirrors (last year's camper-style heated mirrors have been dropped in favor of a new folding and extending heated design) and a standard compass built into the rearview mirror. Stability control and a tire-pressure monitoring system are now standard on all models.
- Versatile and innovative cab configuration, strong V8 engines, substantial towing ability, comfortable daily driver.
- Some cheap interior pieces, lifeless steering, fewer drivetrain choices than comparable trucks.

Only truck I will own. - 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Doc1038 - November 18 - 5:32 pmThis is my second Avalanche I have owned. I will NEVER own another truck except the Av. Very Stylish, Eye catching, versatile. Used for camping, tailgating, towing, moving large items, and much more. My original was a 2002 which I thought was great, and the 2006 is even better. I totalled my 2002 in an accident which I hit in, and realized in any car and many trucks, I would not have made it out alive. VERY SAFE!!! Fuel economy is not bad for the size of the truck, but it should be expected with its size and capacity.

Avalanche - 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche
By CPasq - November 15 - 1:27 amVersitile, rides like a large car, but still able to handle non paved roads with relative ease. Good power with the 5.3L v8. Hwy mileage is closer to 19.5mpg on level roads at 65-70mph. Easy to convert to pickup with the midgate. Love this truck.

With 75000 miles on it this is a true ev - 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche
By mike - October 7 - 2:30 pmMine is a 2002 with 75210 miles on it. I have owned it since new and love this truck just as much as the day I bought it. I have taken several extended trips in it and will not buy anything other than an Avalanche for as long as Chevrolet makes them.

I love my new Avalanche - 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Robyn - August 8 - 6:31 pmI knew the second I started the engine and pulled away from the dealership that this was the truck for me. It is so stylish and eyecatching. Big, beautiful and red. It is so quiet and comfortable I can not say enough nice things about it, only one negative, it seems so wide and hard to parrellel park. I can not wait to take it out on a long haul with my horses attached and finally feel some comfort with style.
