Overview & Reviews
The North Face package is no longer offered, but an electronic stability control system is now available as part of the Z66 Premium On-Road Suspension package. Hydroboost brakes are now standard on all 1500 series Avalanches and the optional 8.1-liter V8 is now rated at 320 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque.
- Versatile and innovative cab configuration, strong V8 engines, substantial towing ability.
- Some cheap interior pieces, lifeless steering, limited drivetrain choices.

Best SUV Money could buy - 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche
By richard cechak - July 12 - 2:00 amIt drives like a cadilac and can do what a hummer can do with ease and style. Chevy has made a miralce mobile with this vehicle. It allows me to have a beach front property wherever I go with the versitility.

3 Ton Chevy - 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche
By john richard - July 12 - 2:00 amSecond one weve owned. First was an "02 model. Luv the ride/handling & passenger comfort. Very versatile as a road car or a towing/hauling truck. Plenty of power. Sun roof & satelite sound option a must plus powered & heated leather seats. Fuel economy is what you would expect with a 5700 pound truck 14/18.5 mpg.

One Great Truck - 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche
By Tyger1 - July 11 - 2:00 amVery smooth ride for a truck. The turning radius is surprisingly small for such a large truck. I havent found any structural defects, although there are some cheesy plastic parts used for the interior. Its not the most economical, but you should, know what to expect before you buy it. Chevy has a definite winner with this truck.

My 03 Avalanche - 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche
By J.T.S. - July 8 - 2:00 amI bought my truck 3 weeks after it was built. I love this truck! Saw it at the SF auto show 3yrs ago as a concept truck and loved it then. I was looking at Suburban,Yukon XL, Trailblazers, Envoy XL. But found my Avalanche (with no - cladding!) my wife loved the truck too! With my two wins I bought it that day.

GREAT TRUCK - 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche
By ianns27 - June 30 - 2:00 amI could not be any happier. We had a 1997 blazer that we sold about a year before we got the Av. The blazer was nice but my Av is great. The comfort is nicer than many large cars and I am getting almost 17 mpg on the highway. And the guys at Homedepot and Lowes love to see me coming!!!!

Happy, Happy, Happy - 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche
By hernandezfam - June 29 - 2:00 amA little apprehensive at first to buy such a big truck but after driving around, I found it was easier to drive than it looks. The ride is smooth and the back seats are roomier in comparison to the Silverados. Great for the family!

Chevy Avalanche - 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche
By lari - April 25 - 10:00 amWe absolutely love our Avalanche. The ride is so smooth and it has a roomy feeling. It takes bumps so well. We test drove an F150 4dr Super Crew and the seats werent as comfortable and the feel of the overall truck was not as solid nor luxurious.
