  • Great car for the price. - 1998 Cadillac Deville

I purchased a 98 Deville Delegance with 62k from an older gentleman. This car was almost perfect, did all maintenance, coolant flush, trans filter fluid, plugs wires, brakes, and rebuilt front end with new shocks, tie rod ends and ball joints. This car is power and smooth with many options standard that many new cars do not have. After replacing the shocks the car is nice to drive but its no sports car. This is just a cruiser that can give a beat down to kids with Hondas trying to pass you up. I live in Seattle so nothing but hills, MPG is 16 no matter what I do, but if I travel on the freeway it gets 26mpg with tires infalted to 38 pounds.

I bought this car with 78 thousand miles on it. Everything is working great on it and it rides smooth. It has the power to get up and go in a seconds notice. I didnt realize how big it really was till I sat in the backseat. Smooth Cadillac ride and lots of power. Gas mileage is pretty decent, better than I expected. My mom owns a 2006 impala and the deville has all the features the impala does and more even being as old as it is. No regrets buying this car. I plan to buy another.

  • Beware the North*Star - 1998 Cadillac Deville

Theres nothing quite like a drive in a Cadillac. The exterior is unique and the interior is spacious. It certainly turns heads especially being 25 and owning one for pleasure driving. 4.6L engine with 300 horses that begs to be unleashed out on the open road.

  • Always wanted one - 1998 Cadillac Deville

Rides like a big car, it is a big car. Have a small car for work, but wanted a cadliac for other times. This year and model has everything you can think a car should have. People look at it when it goes by, a car should get noticed. Repairs are high and there are things I have to fix. But for a car 11 years old, looks good and rides like only a big car can. Purchased an American car even if GM is having problems. Parts and people who can work on it are still working.

  • bye bye northstar, Ill miss you - 1998 Cadillac Deville

Bought with 106,000 miles on it from a dealer. Well optioned with stabilitrac and all the goodies that made it nice to drive. I kept it well maintained. After 5 years of service, engine developed head gasket problems that caused overheating and engine shutdowns. I found that even though the car was still like new the repair would cost more than the car was worth. Loved the car and hated to see it go. Looked at getting a newer one but found that many 4.6L V8 engines have the same problem mine had. My advice is buy young and sell before 150,000 miles to avoid the problem. Would buy another in a heartbeat if no 4.6 liter engine in it. Too pretty to trash so donated to a charity.

I love the power in this machine. This Caddy reminds me of the 1958 Oldsmobile, you can not hold it back it just wants to go. I am 69 years old and love the ride and the handling of it. I hope it last me the rest of my life.

  • 98 Cadillac performance and comfort - 1998 Cadillac Deville

We use the car for long road trips, we enjoy the comfort, and space for luggage. Gas mileage is superb when you drive at or near the speed limit. We have had very little repairs to make to this car. An alternator once but nothing else except one set of tires and normal service., every 3k miles.

  • Luxury Car - 1998 Cadillac Deville

This was my first luxury car. It had phenomenal acceleration, which was shocking considering how heavy the car is. It was as fast as my old GTO. It had plenty of interior room and was very comfortable. It also had an enormous trunk. It ran like a Swiss watch. It did get poor gas mileage and it only runs on premium fuel. It also is expensive to insure. As you would expect, its not a very nimble car. I purchased it new from a dealer in north central Arkansas. I was very happy with the car, but the tactics of dealership defied rational description.

  • 1998 Cadillac DeVille - Still Going - 1998 Cadillac Deville

My 1998 Cadillac DeVille is a tank, but it handles well. It gives me 22 mpg on the highway and the only repair that I have had to do is replace the water pump.

  • Great during warranty period - 1998 Cadillac Deville
    By -

My 1998 Cadillac DeVille has a powerful motor and a quiet, comfortable ride. It provided great performance and reliabillity during the 3yr/36,000 mile warranty period. Mechanically it seems to fall on its face after that. This vehicle received fantastic new car ratings, but seems to lose its resale value rapidly, now we know why. If you want long term reliabillity, buy a Honda.
