98 Cadillac performance and comfort - 1998 Cadillac Deville
By RALPH MANGUM - September 3 - 6:58 pmWe use the car for long road trips, we enjoy the comfort, and space for luggage. Gas mileage is superb when you drive at or near the speed limit. We have had very little repairs to make to this car. An alternator once but nothing else except one set of tires and normal service., every 3k miles.

Luxury Car - 1998 Cadillac Deville
By Troy Ericksen - March 5 - 2:09 amThis was my first luxury car. It had phenomenal acceleration, which was shocking considering how heavy the car is. It was as fast as my old GTO. It had plenty of interior room and was very comfortable. It also had an enormous trunk. It ran like a Swiss watch. It did get poor gas mileage and it only runs on premium fuel. It also is expensive to insure. As you would expect, its not a very nimble car. I purchased it new from a dealer in north central Arkansas. I was very happy with the car, but the tactics of dealership defied rational description.

1998 Cadillac DeVille - Still Going - 1998 Cadillac Deville
By john - May 28 - 5:06 amMy 1998 Cadillac DeVille is a tank, but it handles well. It gives me 22 mpg on the highway and the only repair that I have had to do is replace the water pump.

It is the CADILLAC of cars - 1998 Cadillac Deville
By Dave - March 10 - 9:18 amThis is my first Cadillac. I have owned two Lincolns, an Oldsmobile 98, and a Chrysler "New Yorker." None of the other cars came close to the DeVille. I can set the cruise control on 80, and drive all day getting 24 miles per gallon. On a two lane highway, I can step on the gas and the 4.7 liter "NorthStar" engine accelerates like a sports car, making passing safe and quick. Its comfort is great! Im 66 years old and can drive all day and feel fine. Its handling is REALLY great for such a large car. Maintenance is minimal. I have had to replace one headlight. It is no wonder people use the word "Cadillac" to describe top shelf products of all types.

Please Sir, May I have another? - 1998 Cadillac Deville
By cadillacX3 - January 5 - 1:39 pmThis is my third Cadillac, my second DElegance. My first was an 1985 Eldorado. This one, while excellent to own, has been a little disappointing on gas mileage. My 97 DElegance averaged 30 MPH on the highway and this one is lucky to get 27. All in all, Im pleased and wouldnt hesitate to trust the brand.

Comfort and Reliability - 1998 Cadillac Deville
By marioltx - December 12 - 2:46 pmFrom the moment you step on the gas its smooth all the way, all road conditions, weather and terrain. The only faults are excessive oil consumption, 2 quarts between changes, and while the breaks catch, the car drags the tires along. Once you learn about these and are prepared for them the smoothness and reliability almost makes up for it.

Comfort and reliability - Great Package - 1998 Cadillac Deville
By Karenfran - September 13 - 2:57 pmThis family car provides great comfort. Have driven this car all over the country and it zooms along Texas roads getting at 26 miles per gallon and climbs West VA hills with ease. Im faithful to oil changes, tire rotation and pressure. Bought the car with 17,000 miles (save the showroom price for folks who dont care what they pay). Will definitely consider buying Cadillac again if this one slows down! A/C needed major fix in first few months but my warranty covered everything except $50 deductible.

My 2nd DeVille - 1998 Cadillac Deville
By zman - May 5 - 8:36 pmI bought this DeVille with 137,000 miles on the odometer. I can attest that I am loving this car. It had great care, and still does. I get great mileage of upwards of 34 mpg @ 67 mph. Who else can do that with 275hp and 4,000lbs? It is roomy and elegant, yet I can get up and go when needed. I am looking forward to my 3rd Cadillac someday.

My dream car - 1998 Cadillac Deville
By Jim - February 4 - 5:37 pmWhen I retired I bought my dream car, 1998 Cadillac DeVille. What a nightmare it has turned out to be. I aquired the car with 43,000 miles on it. At 47,900 miles I replaced the battery for $133.76 and a battery cable for $129.38 parts and $272.00 labor. At 49,600 miles I replaced the spark plugs for $84.40 parts and $205.49 labor as well as the AC compressor for $669.30 parts and $401.49 labor. At 61,000 miles I replaced the HVAC blower motor for $348.60 parts and $81.48 labor. This labor cost was low since I refused to use a Cadillac dealer. Cadillac OEM parts costs and Cadillac dealer labor cost are extremely expensive. I will be selling my dream car since I refuse to be victimized anymore.
