This has been the worst car Ive ever owned. I bought it two years ago when I needed a car badly. Id read a couple poor reviews but was persuaded to at least come look at the car. It looked brand new, had low mileage, and a nice price. I now know that the reason it looked brand new and had low mileage is probably because it was parked, broken, more than actually driven. It is pure garbage. It has had a coolant leak since shortly after I bought it. I have taken it to several different places including a dealership and nobody has been able to stop the leak. This among the many other things wrong with it. It would also randomly refuse to start and then 30 minutes later would start.

My very first car turned out to be a lemon and a stressor on my mother. Seemed like a nice, clean car that wouldnt cost me a lot because it was a Cadillac and Cadillacs usually are pretty dependable. But this car, just was an EPIC FAIL. Now Im trading it in and getting this burden off of me and my mother! Engine repair costed $2000, then the brakes, then tires, then transmission (which has to be injected into engine which is even more money) sunroof works when it wants to, back wheel drive stinks (especially in snow and ice), power locks on driver side went out, and on top of all of that, CRAPPY gas mileage...please dont ever buy this car...all of these cars should be set on fire!!

This is by far the worst vehicle I have ever owned and Ive owned many. The engine blew at 77,000 miles and needed a total rebuild. Then the rear went, as did the radiator, and the battery. The radio goes on and off at will, the oil light does the same. The rear windows, if you make the mistake of lowering them, will come back up when they feel like it - sometimes it takes days. As of today, I have been riding around with a garbage bag covering my window and its been down for 3 days! The rear lights, including the blinkers, also work when they want to. The electronics in this vehicle are a joke. What a piece of junk.

This car is a great ride. Thats it. I can not find anyone to fix whatever is wrong. Dealers laugh at the cost to fix it. It runs for a week and then quits. Over and over again. I feel like driving it through a dealer window, but bought it privately. I will stick to Toyota from past experience. I thought since the motor was made in Germany that it would be a good car. I was wrong! This car needs to have permanent retirement in a junk yard. I would feel guilty selling it to anyone as gullible as I was. I should have known better (what was I thinking not buying a Toyota?).

I have had nothing but problems with my car. I bought it used from a dealership for way too much. I didnt look at any consumer reviews before hand. I thought - "Its a Cadillac, of course its nice!" Well, I couldnt have been more wrong. From the lot I had nothing but troubles with the car. I bought it with 38,000 in 2007, and now it rests, with a blown engine, in my drive way with 60,000 miles on it. Those were very expensive 22,000 miles! I am thankful though that this model wasnt an American made car. Come on gm! Do not buy this car!

  • Dont buy this car! - 1999 Cadillac Catera

I hate this car. I dont know why I bought this car in the first place. So many problems. The repair cost are getting close to how much a bought it for in 04. $4000. The a/c doesnt work at all. Leaks antifreeze. Need to put more in every weekend. Radio turns off and doesnt come back on. Check engine light is always on. It never goes off. Water pump is bad. The cooling system doesnt work. The fans dont kick in time to cool the engine. Gas in horrible in town. 190-210 miles to a tank. Bout 365 on the interstate going 65-70. The tires go bad in 10k miles. What else? Just dont buy this car. Listen to me and you will not burn a hole in your wallet to fix it.

I have had nothing but problems with this car. I had to replace a computer chip, transmission, water pump, axel, springs, sway bars. The tires are expensive and break easy because they are so thin. Parts for the car are expensive. The time belt needs to be replaced and its going to cost me $500! It has been in the shop more than on the road and Im afraid to drive it because I cant afford keep putting money into it. Its terrible in the snow but great in the rain. I love my car when it works but thats not too often. :(

Repaired 3 times check Engine never goes away. Inside Engine material is plastic imagine! on a 260 degree Hot Engine. that is why it constant need repair. This car should had been a recall. It stop in the middle of the road without warning. Dont bother to call GM they wont help you, this has been put under the carpet rather then recall. (IS Cheaper).

I just love my 99 Catera Sport!!! It hugs the road and takes the turn just fine like a GM car should. The inside is luxury with the heated leather seats and easy to reach controls. I have no complaints so for except for the storage area upfront. Not enough room for cell phones or anyother stuff. And the cupholder really should be inside of a console. Being all said....I just love my new baby!!!!
