Overview & Reviews
Buick has made some emissions system improvements for '99, and added two exterior metallic paint choices, Sterling Silver and Dark Bronze Mist.
- Competent V6 engine, large back seat, huge trunk.
- Poor ergonomics, unsupportive seats, fuddy-duddy image.

The Plenum theory, a story of an intake - 1999 Buick LeSabre
By tony b - August 28 - 12:58 pmI have put on 40,000 miles since buying this car. No problems, great ride etc, except two weeks ago I became stranded because of the plenum burned out and coolant was logged in the lower intake causing the piston to stop thus stopping my car in the middle of nowhere. I had to walk for miles before a gentleman stopped and offered me a ride. Why was this part (egr) made of plastic and not metal...to save $.20 on each one? Now its going to cost me over $600. to repair it.. Good engineering. One thing is for sure and that is I will stick with Japanese cars..My last was an Acura and I sold it at 181,000.miles.

Dont buy this car it has a GM defect! - 1999 Buick LeSabre
By Mike Naveau - November 2 - 4:08 pmI was schocked to see all the other positive reviews. This car is a ticking time bomb and GM knows it but wont do anything about it. It should have been recalled. They used a plastic plenum part in the intake manifold cover that melts. No getting around it! Possible problems include coolant leaking, head gaskets blown etc, all very labor expensive repairs that will cost in the $800 dollar range. I bought this car used at 48,000 and spent 600 dollars on that repair. Two years later at 75000 spent 800 on a head gasket. Dont buy this car unless you want to keep pouring money through the hole that will develop in the plastic part that GM wont issue a recall on.
