The high-performance X5 4.6is is discontinued. The 3.0i and 4.4i receive an exterior update, as well as a new all-wheel-drive system called xDrive. A six-speed manual transmission is now standard on the 3.0i, and a six-speed automatic is standard on the 4.4i. The 4.4i also receives a new 4.4-liter engine with Valvetronic and a fully variable intake system. Both models can add Sirius Satellite Radio and Bluetooth hands-free cell phone capability as dealer-installed accessories.

• Less interior volume than a 5 Series wagon, price goes up quickly with options, poor fuel economy in the city.

  After having my 04 for a month now, I have put 2500 miles on it. I cant stop driving it. Its the most fun I have had driving in a long time. You cant find a better handeling or more powerful truck built like a BMW anywhere. The new V8 and 6 speed tranny made a world of difference. The new V8 has a subtle but distinct roar coming through the exhaust.

  Tremendous front legroom and confort. Great accleration. Nice layout. Unbelievable sunroof. Not enough storage space in cabin, no place to put sun glasses.

  Best looking SUV for this size on the market. 20" rims, super-wide low profile tires, deep exhaust tones make this combination unbeatable. Performance almost equal to my AMG Mercedes. Build quality unsurpassed. Cannot wipe the smile off my face when driving it. Purchsed the Imola Red so this is even more rare (everyone has black or silver). Handles so well Ive had to set the speed reminder to let me know when I pass 80 mph (which is often). If you are performance minded and want a good looking high quality vehicle, this is the SUV for you.

  A great experience to drive it! Reliable and safe drive in all weather conditions, specially in snowy and rainy days. Fun to drive this comfortable SUV will provide you with good fuel economy (like 400 hundred miles with less than 3/4 of the tank of gas, hwy.)and lots of great times. Enjoy driving it!

  My mom just bought one of these beasts and then broke her leg so ive been driving it. Let me tell you.. this car is amazing and is the ultimate driving machine. It handles like a sportscar and has enough power to destroy anyone at a stoplight. Even with the 20 rims, the ride is very nice. All the gizmos and gadgets just add to this spectacular car. The GPS is top of the line and works like a charm. Complete genius in the creating of the machine. Much props to the people at BMW for this SAV.
