The ultimate Driving MAchine - 2004 BMW 5-Series
By broke4u - September 24 - 2:00 amI took delivery in the German factory and drove this bauty for 10 days on the Autobahn. I just have to say, this is the most rounded, comfortable and roadworthiest car I ever owned-- and I owned a lot of cars (61). From a stad still to 150mph the engine doesnt take a breather. It just goes like a rocket. The handling (I got the sports package) and the precision is phenomenal. I dont know how anyone could not like this car. I am absolutely happy.

Lengthen your commute - 2004 BMW 5-Series
By DTveter - September 19 - 10:00 amThis car is rock solid and perfect for those who need four doors and do not want to sacrifice performance. The thrills continue and I look forward to any excuse for a cruise. My only regret is not having more opportunities to properly drive this car on open highway/backroads. Many of the reviews spend too much time on the iDrive...anyone who has a computer equipped with a mouse and windows should be able to figure it our in 10 minutes. A test drive is the only way to judge this car.

By Katy t - August 12 - 2:00 amI own a 2004 545i BMW and I LOVE this car. I have had so much fun with it, it drives so smooth and comfortable. I have a bad back and so many cars are just not comfortable for me to drive or ride in for a very long time, this BMW is so great I can go at least 6 hours without stopping at all. I also love the new design, I dont understand it when I hear that some dont like the 2004 body style, it looks so sleek and fast (like it is) and going fast, well, that is the best thing about this car it just pulls you and wants to go.

Superlative from Start to Finish - 2004 BMW 5-Series

Old purist balk at the new design (my suspicion is that people are mostly upstet because the new design makes the 2003 and older now look dated). I live in Germany, and the car cruises at 120 MPH as smoothly as if it were going 55 MPH on a US highway. The controls are intuitive without being too busy. Always go with leather and the sport package. You will hate me because I got a US Specs 530i, with Steptronic, and leather for under $42K in Germany under the Military Sales Program (Shipping to the USA, and no taxes when I bring it home)--but Im military and it is a small benefit for spending 12 months fighting the war.

By citizeningermany - June 19 - 10:00 amIm an american living in germany, and Ive been able to drive some very sporty cars. I settled on the 525i since the real performance beasts just werent worth the extra money for me. If you like comfort, get the comfort seat option, heavenly. Really enjoy the sport package, although $800 for the xenon lights is high. I love the solid, responsive handling on the tight, twisty roads of bavaria, and it really unwinds on the autobahn. Still does very well on gas mileage (and over here, it REALLY counts). Im gonna hate to bring it back to the states!

The style and design of The BMW 5-series has delivered many a "WOWs & WHOOS" to my family and friends. My BMW is primarly used to commute to work in the morning, commuting has never been so pleasureble. One thing I would request in a BMW is better cup holders. I need to put my Starbucks coffee some where.
