It's no exaggeration to say that the BMW 5 Series sets the standard for premium sport sedans. Introduced for the 1972 model year, the midsize 5 Series has long offered a near-perfect blend of performance, luxury and interior room. Most BMW 5 Series models you'll come across will be rear-wheel-drive sedans, though you'll stumble upon the occasional 5 Series wagon on the used car market. In addition, all-wheel drive has been optional for some time, and many used sedans in colder climes will be so equipped. Traditionally, the 5 Series has featured an inline six-cylinder gasoline engine, but BMW has also offered V8 engines, turbocharged four-cylinders and even diesel-powered options.   This car has the sport/premium package and what a difference it makes. The car handles like a dream, equally balancing sport handling with a luxury feel. The quiet, smooth ride makes you want to go around the block one more time. The car has 33K miles and accelerates just like new. Best Car Ive ever driven - beats Lexus, Audi and Mercedes, hands down.

  Awful Experience!!! - 2002 BMW 5-Series

  I have a 2002 530i - sport-premium package. The first 4,000 miles were like a dream ... incredible. Then began the vibration, and the "shimmie"ing of the steering wheel. The dealership tells me that is normal for a sports-premium 530i. I cant beieve it. This car shakes! You can feel the vibration in your pant legs ... even on the smoothest roads. I have loved BMWs for a long time. This one, my very first, has been such an awful experience, I can barely look at BMWs anymore!!! Hate is a strong word. Its the only one that fits my experience to this point. BMW - if you rad this please help!!!

  Awesome ride. Cant add more to what has already been said. Speed, comfort, handling this car has it all. The cup holders are a laugh arent they?

  Love at first drive - 1998 BMW 5-Series

  Went into the dealership looking for an SUV, GMC Envoy( car of the year, ye right). Spend hours haggling, till we stumbled on this beemer on the lot, and in an hour I was out of there. I have lived happily ever after. There is something about this car. I just feel the respect everybody has for it, and I respect it too.It is like they are saying, take care of it, we are watching you , we love to watch that car. Of course evedrybody talks about their sister or brother-in-law who has one, I get to say I have one.

  I own a 2004 545i BMW and I LOVE this car. I have had so much fun with it, it drives so smooth and comfortable. I have a bad back and so many cars are just not comfortable for me to drive or ride in for a very long time, this BMW is so great I can go at least 6 hours without stopping at all. I also love the new design, I dont understand it when I hear that some dont like the 2004 body style, it looks so sleek and fast (like it is) and going fast, well, that is the best thing about this car it just pulls you and wants to go.

  I am on my fourth BMW. All great cars. Have had some (very few) minor problems. Very dependable cars.
