Model Overview:

It's no exaggeration to say that the BMW 5 Series sets the standard for premium sport sedans. Introduced for the 1972 model year, the midsize 5 Series has long offered a near-perfect blend of performance, luxury and interior room. It's also highly regarded for its refined styling and innovative technology features.

Most BMW 5 Series models you'll come across will be rear-wheel-drive sedans, though you'll stumble upon the occasional 5 Series wagon on the used car market. In addition, all-wheel drive has been optional for some time, and many used sedans in colder climes will be so equipped. Traditionally, the 5 Series has featured an inline six-cylinder gasoline engine, but BMW has also offered V8 engines, turbocharged four-cylinders and even diesel-powered options. When people ask us to recommend luxury cars, the BMW 5 Series is invariably high on the list, new or used.

  • The best driving machine around - 2003 BMW 5-Series

Had dreamt about owning it for a long time. Finally my day came and after 2.5 years, I still have the same excitement feeling about owning. I look at it in awe. Athletic, safe, roomy, and humble at the same time. If you buy one, I suggest the European delivery program so you can see how this machine performs cruising at 150 MPH in the autobahn. Very tight, and and hear the engine purr at that speed!

  • Endless driving pleasure - 2004 BMW 5-Series

I have owned my 2004 BMW 530d for one year now. I am fully satisfied with it. I like driving, and driving this car is an endless pleasure. I look forward to do it everyday. The engine is diesel (turbocharged, 3 l, 6L cyl, 218 hp/4000 rpm, max speed 152 mph/4000 rpm, max torque 369 lbft/ 2000 rpm). My mileage is 20.7 mpg on downtown streets, 34.5 mpg on a mixture of highways (90-95 mph on average) mountain road. No problems to date. i-Drive is very useful in order to set preferences and leave yourself to deal dayly with only a few choice of buttons in the dashboard or the steering wheel. Brakes are efficient to the most. Last, the car is solid like a rock when it comes to a bump.

This car is awsome to drive, its, fast for the size of engine. It is very solidly built. The ergonomics are awesome, and the interior layout of controls are very easy to use, and easy to operate while driving. The handling is terrific, it drives itself pratically no body roll.

  • The ultimate machine ? - 2002 BMW 5-Series

Not a good car to have if you are busy and using it as much as I do. The radio goes out on/off. The seats wear you out after a long day and the a/c has its own temper. What really discourages me is that the radiator went out after 47,000 miles. If you need reliability dont get here.

  • Best Sports Sedan - 2001 BMW 5-Series

Just picked up my 01 CPO 525i today. It has 51,800 miles but it feels exceptionally solid. Fit and finish is awesome...even after 4 years!!!

  • Best value in the BMW line - 2003 BMW 5-Series

Got this car as a demo with 7000 miles on it. Paid $37000 for a fully loaded car w/ every possible option. The 2.5 engine surprise me with its get up and go, especially if its put in Sport Mode. Ive had 4 adults in this car and still drive great with wonderful acceleration on the on-ramp. Build-quality is much better compared to my 2004 330Ci definitely a step up from the 3-series. This cars interior is timeless compared to the spartan design of the new 5 series quality of material and leather seeems to be of better quality compare it for yourself and save yourself a whole lotta money by buying the previous generation 5.

  • BMW 528iT Auto Used - 1999 BMW 5-Series

I bought this car because the 528i sedan we got three years earlier was so solid. I wanted the sport and premium packages, which is what I have. The ride is very good and aerodynamics great. The stance is low and performance wheels light, so I hit low barriers and bent wheel. The replacement wheels are $600 per. The radiator sprung a leak at 64K. Otherwise it performs as expected.

This car is not only fun to drive, its safe and reliable, too! BMW will also conduct all routine maintenance free of charge.

  • My 525i - 2005 BMW 5-Series

I bought a base 525i with the "leatherette" interior and very few add ons. What a car. I travel long distances in my job and this baby consistently gets 35+ mpg on the highway!

  • BMW 530 i Value!! - 2005 BMW 5-Series

I was skeptical of spending $50k on an automobile, but it was worth every penny!!! Incredible handling and acceleration when in the sport mode. No doubt a best buy!
