  • Most reliable car Ive ever owned - 1994 BMW 3-Series

I have owned the car since 1998 and it has never left me stranded, gets 36 mpg and handles as good as cars that cost 5 times as much! To sum it up, the car is worth much more than you end up paying for one.

For its category and year is and amazing car, as long is maintain right. If you cut corners on repairs parts material etc on the e36 models might as well throw it in the trash..and your experiance with the e36 is going to be poor and your review. The inerior in my is poor, typical for a car thus year but well maintain with over 200,000 miles and it runs and performs great. New clutch stage 2 performance, everything else stock rebuild vanos plus wear and tare maintnance. Exterior in good shape clean look burgandy ruby, tinted windows .. This car pave the way for all 3 series and other manufacturers have copy the ruby color, plus the black spoiler that covers tank is a standard rear look in most late models, so apreciate your bmw e36 and enjot it.☺

  • An excellent choice - 1994 BMW 3-Series

Never will you regret buying this model of yr 1994 which was the only model that BMW did not reproduce due to driving force restrictions. You get the speed and power of a 6 cylinder!!!. A reliable car which has never put me into trouble even after I have driven about 35000 in the past 2 yrs

  • Holds its own: value & fun to drive! - 1994 BMW 3-Series

This was my 2nd BMW, after a 85 528e with 186k which ran like a champ to the day I traded it. 325e build is good & have only replaced a fuel pump in 12 years! although I need a heater fan & a couple of lightbulbs now - still w/original battery!! Its at its peak performance at 60degrees and rain - BMW still hadnt worked out the fuel/air mix in the computer for US Southern summer driving in 94 (same problem with the old 528e). I was unwilling to chip it, although, I understand that will cure this weakness & add more fun (could I stand MORE?). I WANT a new(er) one when my daugher graduates from college in 2 yrs. Visited the BMW plant in SC and have my next dream, a Z4 picked out!

  • 94 325IC - 1994 BMW 3-Series

Have had my 94 325IC for almost 2 years now. Its been awesome, fun to drive, and been virtually problem free. In 20k miles, only had to replace a leaking power steering hose. The car exemplifies BMW quality.

  • What a good car - 1994 BMW 3-Series

Bought this car at age 21 and drove it very hard. Original clutch lasted until 155k. No other problems other than typical wear and tear. Performed very well for a 1.8 litre. Drove a friends 325is with 100k less miles and the 318is is just as quick as long as you keep the RPMs up (the 325is did have a greater powerband). Comfy car, fun to drive, not the best in snow but made it through 4 winters with heavy snow never going into the ditch. 190k on it now and still getting average of 27.5 MPG driving in rush hour traffic. Engine is a little tired now but it still runs very well. Overall great car.

  • Great car, I love it! - 1994 BMW 3-Series

So far its been a great car to me and I have a lot of plans to make it even better. Really the only thing that has mechanically failed is the Idle Control Valve (ICV) which produced bad bouncing idle... so, clean yours!

  • Ultimate fun in the sun classic - 1994 BMW 3-Series

This is a great little convertible. My first. The handling and tightness of an 11 yr old car are excellent. Rear wheel drive can be a bit tricky in winter. When I bring it to work on warm days all the coworkers want to go out to lunch in my car! I love the fact that it can seat 4 comfortably for short distances. A true classic in every way, and many have tried to copy the lines. Gets decent gas mileage , I average 22 mpg.

  • Great (but not PERFECT) little car! - 1994 BMW 3-Series
    By -

I have had this little beauty for about a month now. I am so impressed! I have owned American and Japanese but decided on this partly based on reviews like these on this site. The car feels solid and I have not felt the cornering qualities like this since I sold my Miata. Remember, this is a 4 door sedan! The acceleration with this 5 speed manual is awesome! At about 4700 RPM the engine comes on like a turbo (thanks to VANOS). The shifter "clicks" into place, and the exhaust growl is intoxicating! The build quality is way more than I am used to. Everything is so tight even with close to 150K on the clock. Expensive? I work on my own. I can do anything with the online help sites!

  • What a car! - 1994 BMW 3-Series

This is my first BMW and it is a good introduction to the brand. I have owned other sports sedans in the past but none have had the performance with the size of engine that this car has. I feel like I am driving a v6 and often leave others at the light.
