This Year's Model Updates:

A six-speed SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox) transmission is now optional on select 3 Series models, while a five-speed Steptronic automatic is now offered with the 330i Performance Package. Rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights and hands-free wireless cell phone capability are now standard features on the sedan and wagon. There are new alloy wheel designs for the 325i, 325xi and 330xi Sport Package. All 330i sedans get a revised grille -- a new black grille instead of silver, with a lower grille combination of body color and black. All 3 Series coupes and convertibles receive a revised front fascia, plus new front and rear bumper contours, Adaptive headlamps and taillights and new designs for both the standard and optional wheels. Interior changes are limited to a revised climate control panel. Finally, Sirius Satellite Radio is now available as an accessory on all 3 Series models.

Pros:
  • Available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners
Cons:
  • Pricey for its market segment, limited rear-seat space and cargo capacity.

  • The best car in the world review! - 2004 BMW 3-Series

I think this care is a car that can be bought by people who are middle class, and buy wealthy, and still have the same kind of performance, and driveablity, as a mercedes or porsches. This car is definately "The Ultimate Driving Machine" I love having this type of car. I will not buy another american car ever!

  • 325Ci Manual Coupe - What a Car - 2004 BMW 3-Series

This is the best car Ive owned. It has great performance w/ 30 mpg! The 5- speed manual is flawless and the rid is firm but excellent for a sports coupe. The cornering and handling is first class. I cant wait to get into it and go. The 325 may not have as big an engine as the 330, but I dont feel it needs it. This has all the power I need. My 325 has the Cold Weather, Premium, and Sports package. The sport seates are wonderful. The gray leather gives the BMW an elegant look. The Xenon headlights make a huge difference. For the price, I got the dealer to throw in the 6-disk trunk CD-changer and the home-link type garage door opener.

  • The best of both worlds - 2004 BMW 3-Series

This car is really so well thought out and put together that it invariably flatters you as a driver. Handling is excellent, and safety features have been a life saver for me (I recently had to avoid a car in front of me on a freeway who locked up his wheels at 75mph+). You can just hope you never need to find out how good DSC actually is! Aside from that, the car is a joy to drive. Unlike the majority of cars (and dreadful SUVs/trucks) this car goes where you point it.

  • Everything I Expected and More! - 2004 BMW 3-Series

I have always driven used cars, reliable Toyotas and the like, and have never splurged on a nice car. Wow! I am so glad I finally broke out of that mentality. This car is worth every cent I paid for it. It is amazing, and with the top down on a sunny California afternoon, it is heaven. The handling, the look, the speed, everything is so much more than I have ever enjoyed in a car. This car makes driving in traffic actually bearable, and even fun. I would do it again in a second.

  • 330Ci/Silver/18"/AUTO/Sports/Nav - 2004 BMW 3-Series
    By -

My review: Get the Nav system. Leatherette is as good as leather but cheaper with less maintence. Get the sunroof. The Septronic AUTO is fun. Wish I had upgraded the xenons. The upgrade from 325 to 330 is expensive, but theres a noticable power difference (esp. with the AUTO). The 330Ci: perfect car for a single guy. Surprisingly roomy for 4 adults, rear seats fold down for two full golf sets or luggage, perfect fun for road trips (esp with the Nav). My advice, spend the extra dough and get the Bimmer over the japanese cars. Theres just that extra pinache about driving up in Bimmer that you do not get in japanese cars.
