This Year's Model Updates:

BMW has seen fit to give the sedans and wagons a facelift for 2002. An in-dash CD player finally makes it onto the standard features list. The center stack has been altered to accommodate the new automatic climate controls. Steptronic automanual operation has been altered so that you move the transmission lever forward for downshifts and backward for upshifts. Bi-xenon headlamps are on the options list so that both low and high beams can glow a cold blue and can be set to automatic operation. Rear side airbags are available for coupes and convertibles. Two new colors, Electric Red and Gray Green (and a Natural Brown interior leather) join the color spectrum.

Pros:
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Pricey for their market segment, limited rear-seat space and cargo capacity.

I bought my car from Military Sales overseas and saved a bundle. When I picked up the car it was awesome. I drove 1,100 miles in 3 days and could not get enough. The car hanldes excellent and the controls are at your fingertips. I would recommend it to anyone.

  • No compromises - 2002 BMW 3-Series

Bought the BMW 325i after considering 2003 Honda Accord coupe, VW Passat, Nissan Altima. The BMW was the best by far. You dont compromise anything when buying the BMW. Great styling, handeling, performance, quality and a luxury brand. I was yelling-out-loud happy while driving it home!

  • Extremely poor reliability - 2002 BMW 3-Series

I truly do not feel safe in this car. It ramdomly stalls out, in dangerous situations. This has happened four times. Dealership found no problems. The latest, every once in a while doesnt start, dont know why. I couldnt be more disappointed.

  • Spoiled - 2002 BMW 3-Series

Ive owned my 325Ci for just over a year and I love the car. Performs great and makes those curves in the road straight. Very solid car. Driving this car has spoiled me and I cant imagine driving anyhting else. I do want more power though. 330 would be nice but can you say M3? Mmmmm. Only problems Ive had with the car is the weather stripping in the door popped out and fell inside the door. Also sometimes the door locks have malfunctioned and Ive been locked in the car. Have an appointment next week to get them fixed.

  • Great Car, but........ - 2002 BMW 3-Series

My car was fine for the first few months, but Ive had a problem with the car stalling. I have a 5-speed...when you start it for the first time and let it idle for about 2 minutes in neutral, by feathering the accelerator the car stalls out. This has been happening for months and no dealer has been able to fix the problem!!! BMW customer service has been no help either to date.

Absolute luxury when you are cruising the highways, a 4 door sports car when you hit the windy mountain roads. The transmission is a work of art. The car has amazing composure. The communication between myself, the car , and the road was so in sync. I have been driving assorted audis for the past 15 years. All I can say is, I just didnt get it. The BMW is the ultimate driving machine. There is not a better entry level sport luxury. If you wanted what this car has to offer, in luxury, performance, features, safety, relia bility...you would be spending $10,000- $15,000 more. Join me in the experience!

If you are looking for a "drivers car:" look no further. There may be other cars (Lexus IS300, Infinity G35, etc) that offer more equipment at a lower price, but they do not come near to the level of excitment and fun that this car (325i) has to offer. The look of the car is simple and elegant inside and out. The engine is smooth and powerful and the handling, oh, the handling is nimble and agile. The 3 also gets credits for offering all the safty features as standard equipment.

  • Very Disappointed !!!!!!!! - 2002 BMW 3-Series

I have a momentary significant engine hesitation on slow accelerations; I have taken the car to BMW 6 times for this problem. I have taken the car 7 times for a distinct whine at 70 MPH coming from the rear end or the manual transmission; BMW changed the rear end fluid and then the rear end. The gas pedal sticks after 30 minutes of use; its been changed two times. The radiator requires filling every 7 weeks to bring the coolant level back up to full on the float stick. BMW has tried to fix the above items, but refuses to work on any of the anymore. The driver shoulder harness tensioner has been replaced twice.
