Overview & Reviews
The BMW 3 Series sedan and wagon have been completely redesigned for 2006. Major highlights include new features, more powerful engines, a slightly larger interior and the incorporation of BMW's latest exterior styling elements. The 3 Series coupe and convertible are unchanged this year but will eventually move over to the new platform being used for the sedan and wagon; expect to see a new hardtop convertible for the 2008 model year.
- Still the standard when it comes to perfectly sorted vehicle dynamics, high-quality interior materials, wide range of configurations to suit any style, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
- Still costs more than most of its competitors, lacking in interior storage space.

ABSOLUTELY THRILLED!!! - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By SonLenn - April 12 - 12:56 pmIve owned my 06 330i (White with Beige interior, premium package with extras) for approximately 1 week and I absolutely love it! Quality, quality, quality... that is the best way I can describe the 330i. I cant believe it took me so long to pay attention to the Bimmers. My family thinks Im nuts because all I talk about is my 330i and all of its features. Wow!!!!

A true "Driving Machine" - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By rickmckee - March 31 - 11:43 amThis is my second 325 in the last 4 years and this is quite the improvement over my 2003 325xi! I didnt think that was possible! The only thing I have a problem with at times is that the voice activation doesnt always pick up my commands on the first try, And the iDrive is a bit slow to respond at times as well. Overall, this car has great acceleration from a dead stop and lots of power to spare while cruising down the highway. It takes a 35 MPH exit ramp at 60 MPH with a squeal in the tires. Handling and cornering are perfect. MPG with my car is 19 mpg/city and 30 mpg/hwy (a bit worse when I get aggressive with the gas). It is a beautiful vehicle and is a true "Driving Machine"!

Not what you would expect. - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By Wynne - March 29 - 11:13 pmThe new 2006 BMW 325i is not what you would expect from a 4-door sedan! The comfort level is superb (Even for someone who is 63", as I am). The new 3 liter engine really does the trick. The automatic transmition allows for a comfortable ride in "D" mode, however, when you find yourself on an empty road filled with curves, put it in Sport mode or the semi-manual mode and the car truely comes alive. The sports package adds quite a nice touch. The larger rims and adjustable sport seats are easily worth the money. Also, I have been averaging a great 34 mpg on the highway. Hard to beat! The car is truly a joy to drive, and I find myself taking a rural, winding route home in the evenings.

BMW 330i - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By John - March 19 - 1:33 pmFantastic car and really meets the adage that it is a drivers car. It is a pleasure to drive and handles extremely well. BMW must improve their Navigation system and the iDrive interface is not user friendly even after 9 months of using daily.

Yes, it is the Ultimate Driving Machine! - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By Leno - March 14 - 12:03 pmThe ride is very smooth and the car handles very well. I love the way the car just takes off! The lumbar seats are a must, which I should have gotten. Awkwardly situated cup holders, but overall - I love this car!!

BMW for life - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By Karistian Broussard - March 13 - 1:26 amThis was my first BMW and it has lived up to all of its expectations. I am in love with this car.INow I know what they mean when they say a car can be fun to drive. This will not be the last BMW I purchase. Im sold for life. I think that the people who design BMWs know what the buyers want. I wanted a sports car that had a feel of luxury and thats exactly what I got. Now Im ready for the M6. The sexiest car to me hands down.

Disappointed - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By Connie - February 25 - 10:00 pmThis is the 3rd 3 series that I have owned and I must say that I am very disappointed. This car has no pick-up and you have to hit the gas to the floor, literally before it jumps forward but not without a 1 or 2 second delay. I do not drive it like my previous 330i, where I could change lanes while I was almost at a complete stop onto oncoming traffic. The first few times I did that with the 325i, it was scary because there was no pick up and I thought I was going to be rear-ended. As for reliabilty, one day, it just died on me... something to do with a cable. Now the bluetooth and SOS features have malfunctioned, the drivers seatbelt sticks all the time and once for almost 5 mins.

nearly perfect - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By kerwin - February 24 - 3:20 pmOverall, the new 325xi is a wonderful vehicle. I love the styling, ride, comfort, etc. It has plenty of bells and whistles to keep you occupied. The iDrive system is worth it, even though there are a few issues. And the lack of iPod support/connectivity (the Aux jack connection is a joke) is a downgrade from previous models.

The ultimate machine - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By Eric - February 23 - 5:26 pmGreat ride and style. Good power on the 325i. People are complaining about the price, of course I would like to pay less but were talking about greatest entry level luxury car in the world. Go get one!

Still great - except run flats? - 2006 BMW 3-Series
By Robola2 - February 16 - 4:30 pmAfter nearly 10K miles I stll have a very positive assessment of this car with the exception of the run flat tires. I had to wait nine days for a replacement of a 17" Bridgestone that was ruined by running over a bolt. I have learned that frquently monitoring correct air pressure is critical and any operation of the vehicle at incorrect pressures will distort the tires and make them permanently very noisy. This seriously detracts from the overall driving experience.
