This Year's Model Updates:

The BMW 3 Series sedan and wagon have been completely redesigned for 2006. Major highlights include new features, more powerful engines, a slightly larger interior and the incorporation of BMW's latest exterior styling elements. The 3 Series coupe and convertible are unchanged this year but will eventually move over to the new platform being used for the sedan and wagon; expect to see a new hardtop convertible for the 2008 model year.

Pros:
  • Still the standard when it comes to perfectly sorted vehicle dynamics, high-quality interior materials, wide range of configurations to suit any style, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Still costs more than most of its competitors, lacking in interior storage space.

The car is great. It is a go getter and has plenty of pep. The body, interior and all the bells are another good feature of this car. I would have liked the tires to be of the old school.

Well, being the frugal type, I searched for my 1st bimmer, a pre-owned 325i and have to say its all that and a bag of chips too. (Wont buy new, depreciates soon as you drive off the lot.) This babys pretty much got everything: active steering, adaptive light control, xenons, moonroof, dynamic cruise, dakota leather, sport and premium pkg, voice activated nav, iDrive, sunshades, multi function steering wheel, htd seats, pwr folding rear-view mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, and of course steptronic. Sheesh, only missing adaptive cruise and comfort access! Ive never driven a car that felt so one with me. Im amazed @ the way it does everything so well. Im speechless What took me so long??

This is my first BMW and I purchase almost all the options available. premium Pk, Sport Pk, Cold Weather Pk, Navigation System. It is very fun to drive and has great cornering stability. Acceleration is good except offline, midrange is powerful. iDrive is very robust but it takes time to learn. All in all, money well spent.

You cant beat the handling, smooth engine, technology advances, pristine styling, brute strength and refined luxury. Some cars do one or several of these things well. The BMW 3-Series has mastered them all. Where previous generations had a more pedestrian exterior - especially the coupe, which appeared to be missing the 3rd and 4th doors - the new 3 delivers aggressive styling with balance and panache. This is the best car on the road, period. You may find more technology gadgets in an Acura, less road noise in a Lexus and more power in an Aud (?) ... but no competitor comes close to delivering the complete package - from tip to tail - with so many features at or near the top of the rankings.

  • What a car... - 2006 BMW 3-Series

Just got my new 325i with Sport Package. Wow, for years, I have driven VWs, Hondas...but this is totally different thing. I am glad I got it and it is definitely worth every dime. Outside is beautiful, compact, but just the way its supposed to be. Inside is perfect, from the layouts to the available room, which is great for the class of this automobile. The car is super quiet, but roars nicely when stepped on it. Sport package is definitely worth the money. Leatherette looks and feels great. I could go on, and on...

Details: Auto + Prem Package. No Sport Package. The 3.0L engine of the 325i is very powerful and responsive. I personally it is very enough for road driving. No need to get 330i unless you are speed freak. Acceleration is very fast and linear. It feels faster than the IS300 and G35. The solid steering with DSC make driving this car fast very easy. The suspensing is firm but somehow it can smooth out the rough road when needed. Amazing. The auto transmission is very smooth with no jerking at all. The steptronic is responsing much faster than the one in IS300 and G35. I like the E90 styling as it is more modern and the head lamp has aggressive stance.

This is my first BMW and I am extremely happy with my purchase. I havent had to replace my tires yet at 19,000 and am glad the car comes with a warranty. It will be very difficult to buy a different car after this experience.

  • Still The Best ! - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I have owned several sport coupes and convertibles in my 49 years as an auto enthusist. The BMW 3 series convertible is the best. A true pleasure and refined automobile.

  • Great car - 2006 BMW 3-Series

The car drives briliantly but I would give it back because of the seat belt idiot blinging chime. It wont stop, seat has pressure sensors. Bet European models dont do this. I wish I knew how to disable the blinging chime. Why is there no temperature/oil pressure gauge in a sports sedan? Handles snow great even with 18" sport tires. I would not order iDrive again not intuitive. BMW should beg Apple computer to design menues and interface.
