This Year's Model Updates:

The BMW 3 Series sedan and wagon have been completely redesigned for 2006. Major highlights include new features, more powerful engines, a slightly larger interior and the incorporation of BMW's latest exterior styling elements. The 3 Series coupe and convertible are unchanged this year but will eventually move over to the new platform being used for the sedan and wagon; expect to see a new hardtop convertible for the 2008 model year.

Pros:
  • Still the standard when it comes to perfectly sorted vehicle dynamics, high-quality interior materials, wide range of configurations to suit any style, available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
Cons:
  • Still costs more than most of its competitors, lacking in interior storage space.

  • Wow - The new 330XI - What a Car!! - 2006 BMW 3-Series

Does everything well - I am so very impressed with handling and power. Noticeable upgrade in Power from my E46 330i. Went with the ZPP and ZCP - All the options are wonderful and great.

Took a week to really learn everything- I have the 330i with performance tires, seats are a little tight for my sit down and its a little bumpy with 48 lbs of air in the tires, but a real joy to drive. In sport mode it jumps to 90 in breathtaking fashion, brakes are stop now dandies with no fade at all. If you know how to get your line and move into a corner with power, its like driving a bed i.e. flat no lean at all, no nose drop on hard braking. Worth the money

  • Very Sweet ride - 2006 BMW 3-Series

This car specializes in awesome handling. The 330i with the Sport Package stays flat in any turn and inspires confidence. I also find it to be drop dead gorgeous. Im a bit surprised by those who rave about the power - its noticably less peppy than the G35 and Legacy GT. Wish they couldve given it 25 more hp for 41K out the door, but hey, its still an amazing car.

Replaced my Porsche Boxter with the BMW 330xi. I love it!! Very comfortable and loving everything about it - BT, Stereo, Steptronic, Automatic Folding Side Mirrors, Lumbar Support, Heated Seats, etc....

  • Stop buying Hondas - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I purchased this vehicle as a replacement to my 2005 Honda Accord Coupe. After 15yrs and four Hondas, this is a major upgrade. Far more creature comforts and better handling inspite of the lower horsepower rating. This car loves to be driven fast and grips the road like a champ. Wish I had looked at bimmers sooner.

  • Hmm - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I leased this one after having a 2003 BMW 325i (E46), and was actually expecting more performance, as the HP got increased 17%, however, the car remained to be pretty much the same. In addition, the RFT Bridgestones are very noisy! They screwed up the cup holders as well as the window and locking commands - I believe that they were better in the old BMWs. Otherwise, everything else is very good, and I love the new feature of having the automated wipers and Bluetooth connectivity with my cellular phone.

What an upgrade from a VW Jetta. The saying, " VW Jetta is a poor mans BMW," is partially true, and now I know what I have been missing by not paying the extra 5K to get a BMW in the past. I think We just bought a new BMW at the right time. This car is German engineering to the T. Absolutely flawless, stout, and sleek at the same time. We lost our 2001 VR6 Jetta to Katrina, and the wife wanted another German made car. So, we went to a BMW dealer, and that same day we decided to purchase. If you are in the market for a sport sedan, want the best of the best... go test drive the 2006 325i!

  • Great Car, but is it Reliable? - 2006 BMW 3-Series

Overall, this car handles very well and has a good smooth engine and transmission. Unfortunately, after only about 1400 miles I had to take it in for an airbag sensor malfunction and other minor electrical issues. I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

The handling, styling, cornering, etc. This car was just named World Car of the Year and I can see why. The Ultimate Driving Machine.

  • 330xi Review - 2006 BMW 3-Series

I have owned 8 BMWs since 1973, everything from a 320i to a 740i, a M5 and a 540i. The 330xi is probably the best "overall" car I have driven all these years. It has only been a few weeks, but I can already tell that this car will be a favorite. Excellent power, phenomenal ergonomics and handling on a par with an M3. I opted for all the options and even like the iDrive system with on board navigation. The new 3 series is the more handsome of the " Chris Bangle" era, but heed my advice and opt for the Sport package with 18" style 162 wheels. It is the ONLY way of making the 330 look handsome; The standard car with 17" wheels and no options looks terrible and that includes the 325.
