This Year's Model Updates:

A six-speed SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox) transmission is now optional on select 3 Series models, while a five-speed Steptronic automatic is now offered with the 330i Performance Package. Rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights and hands-free wireless cell phone capability are now standard features on the sedan and wagon. There are new alloy wheel designs for the 325i, 325xi and 330xi Sport Package. All 330i sedans get a revised grille -- a new black grille instead of silver, with a lower grille combination of body color and black. All 3 Series coupes and convertibles receive a revised front fascia, plus new front and rear bumper contours, Adaptive headlamps and taillights and new designs for both the standard and optional wheels. Interior changes are limited to a revised climate control panel. Finally, Sirius Satellite Radio is now available as an accessory on all 3 Series models.

Pros:
  • Available all-wheel drive for sedan and wagon.
  • Luxurious, powerful, exceptional road manners
Cons:
  • Pricey for its market segment, limited rear-seat space and cargo capacity.

  • Best Car Ever - 2004 BMW 3-Series

I drive 120 miles per day to and from work. This car looks great, and handles even better. Fast and comfortable. All wheel drive has been good so far in New England

I posted a review back in May, and I loved the car. Its now December, and my opinion hasnt changed in the least. Drivers seat has become more comfortable as it became broken in. Youll get better mileage if you inflate front tire to 32, rear to 38 like the manual says (dealership delivered with 32/32), with no loss of comfort. No reliability issues. Nada. Nichts. Car took 1/2 quart of oil at 4000 miles, and I did off-cycle oil change at 7500. Advice: Buy snow tires w/rims, or leave in the garage during winter.

I really had a tough time choosing this BMW over a similar-priced G35. What finally clinched it was a two-day rental I did on a business trip. The G35 was a great car to test-drive, with killer acceleration and handling. But over the course of two days, driving about 200 miles per day, I noticed that: it had a rough ride and hates potholes the auto transmission is never sure what gear to pick and always has a lag the seats are uncomfortable (why do all Japanese cars have way too much lumbar?) and I simply could not get past how cheap the interior felt.

Purchased 2004 330ci in June 2003. This is a fun car to drive, and the handling is superlative. However, with 10K miles have already replaced transmission and 6 ignition coils. What has happened to BMW reliability?

This is my second BMW convertible and forth BMW. Sweet little car. The improvements on this car have been good ones. More trunk space with the top up....

  • No More Nissans! - 2004 BMW 3-Series

I have driven Nissan products for the last 11 years, but after purchasing my 330CI,(very disapointed with new Nissans) Iam totally hooked!! Now I realize what the "Ultimate Driving Machine" is! The quality, design, power, ride and handling is like nothing I have EVER experienced in the past! Customer service at my dealership was outstanding. Looks like Im in the long haul!!

Ive always dreamed of owning a BMW and for years Ive driven other cars (Honda, Pontiac, Toyota, Mitsu, etc...). After I got my 2004 330Ci, I cant believe I waited this long! The car handles very well and the performance is top notch. Im sure the 225HP rating is "toned" down since it feels more powerful than that. The interior speaks of luxury and the sound system is pretty good. For price/performance/luxury, this car cant be beat. From now on, I will always buy a BMW.

This is a great car. if you feel like driving a sports car, or luxury ride the transmission does both. One button get the top up or down, plenty of trunk space, awesome stereo, all the toys you are willing to pay for are available to you.

  • Mi 330I with ZHP option - 2004 BMW 3-Series

Compares very favorably to the 1998 M3 (E36) sedan I traded for this car. Suspension not as harsh as the 98. Acceleration is only slightly slower, which combined with improved ride quality make this a great buy. Overdrive (.85 sixth gear) offers a relaxed cruising choice when using major highways. Alcantara on the thick, M-style steering wheel aids in "driver-to-road" feedback.

  • Nice Car - 2004 BMW 3-Series

We moved from NY to Hawaii so, naturally we HAD TO HAVE a convertable. We shopped around, tried several different types, Volvo, Saab, Mercedes, but we kept returning to BMW. The Mazda, and Honda was too small. This is just the perfect car. It runs well, corners exceedingly well, is quick and nimble. The 330Ci is a good looking car. We like the admiring looks the car gets. Service at BMW of Honolulu is outstanding. There is not one thing we would change. It is a very nice car.
